So I hired two men and a truck to move my used (new to me) 300g tank. Well they damaged it during the move.

They had my 800lb tank sitting on a 2 wheeler on the left side the whole drive to my house .

I saw the damage when one of the movers said pull the blanket out but watchout for all the loose glass.

Then I saw it....

One of the movers sliced open his hand while they were putting it one the stand.

Waiting on a call from then mgr. The move cost me $550

This really sucks.... now its just a waiting game I guess........... hopefully this gets taken care of :(

Im in Iowa there was 5 of them. We bandaged up the guy that cut his hand. Then I immediately called them. According to the paper work it should get taken care of..... hopefully it does.... but this sucks for sure

Oh nvm I thought I saw that u were near me. Well dang. But ya hopefully they pay for a new tank

I contacted glasscages where the tank is from and a couple others for quotes for a replacement to hand to them. I think they will be surprised when they see how much its worth. 3 sides are starfire

They shouldn't give you a hassle and you should get a new tank. I've known people who worked for them here in Michigan and they always did right by the customer if anything was damaged by them during a move. I wouldn't call bbb yet I'd give them a chance to do the right thing before reporting them. But definitely don't wait to file if they don't do right quickly for you.

maybe you should give them a quote from reef savvy as well! ;)

That is terrible! I hope the guy didn't hurt himself too bad though. Then again if it was me, I may have hurt him a lot more then a little hand boo boo haha. But on the bright side you will hopefully get a brand spanking new tank out of it:)

Did you get the "full replacement value coverage" plan? If so, brand new tank for you at full value. If not, you will get a fraction. Hopefully, it works out.

Haha ya I was upset for sure but tried my best to be civil. Its a definite disappointment was planning on switching to this tank next week :/.

On the brightside just got my quote from glass cages $3500

According to the paperwork I have they replace or give face value if it cant be fixed which this cant be fixed or at least I dont think it can be

As far I know three major moving companies in Houston won't move a tank if it isn't grated up.
It sucks on the moment but insurance companies are a pain to work with, it doesn't surprise me as the tank is used they try to fix it with a new bottom piece.
The moving company has insurance for a reason that if a claim is filled by law they not liable till you file suit in a small claims court and a court order is granted in your favor, till then lets hope that the insurance will take care of it.

Glasscages said 3 weeks but first I'll have to jump through hoops Im sure with 2 men and a truck im sure
