Movers damaged my tank :/

I plan to pretty much demand a new one. They seemed pretty cool about the whole thing. He took some pics and he said himself he doesnt think it can be fixed.

Let alone we dont have any tank builders in Iowa that I know of lol

I'm sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. Look at my broken 150 gallon tank

A glass tank can be repaired but it frequently requires all the panes to be separated cleaned and siliconed back together. You paid extra for the insurance otherwise it is by the pound. I just moved and paid extra. It is always a good idea to take two or three of the most expensive items to come up with minimum coverage. Unless the truck is stolen the whole load is never damaged. I insured my move for $125,000 covered the 4 most expensive items. Hopefully they replace it, it sucks when **** happens like that.

Sounds like you're on the road to recovering your tank!. I'm kind of in the boonies of CO myself, but I'm close enough to Denver I had three to talk to, plus Glass cages and DSA. Unfortunately I didn't have insurance so I just tell everyone I've had two 400 gallon tanks!

OOOuch!! That's a shame. Good Luck with getting yourself wet again!

Sorry to hear about your tank.FYI, There is a slightly larger tank, like double, on the local Chicago boards for sale including livestock

Glad you are getting your tank fixed or a new one that's great news!

So I hired two men and a truck to move my used (new to me) 300g tank. Well they damaged it during the move.

They had my 800lb tank sitting on a 2 wheeler on the left side the whole drive to my house .

I saw the damage when one of the movers said pull the blanket out but watchout for all the loose glass.

Then I saw it....

One of the movers sliced open his hand while they were putting it one the stand.

Waiting on a call from then mgr. The move cost me $550

This really sucks.... now its just a waiting game I guess........... hopefully this gets taken care of :(
I had the same thing except we couldn't see the damage. The movers twisted the frame so when we loaded the 265 gallon with water and rocks the bottom of the tank just fell out.

Wow - I've never heard such horror stories about aquariums being moved. I didn't even realize they existed!
I'll definitely be sensitive to all this if we ever have any of our systems moved.
Everyone's experience will definitely be used when it comes to moving situations that require extreme care.

I will give everyone an update as soon as I hear from them. Still waiting to see when the glass guy is gonna come out.

Inconvenience to say the least !!!
