Nice if kept on it's own rock like in this pic or on the back glass as long as the rocks aren't up against it :)

You can't go wrong with GSP !!! The only thing you can go wrong is that it spreads like wild fire. Beautiful for substrate but like grass you need to mow it often.

Hoping one of you can help me decide where to safely put a hammer. This is my tank currently (minus the GSP island on the far left)

A guy near me is offering to sell me a beautiful aussie hammer the size of a fist for $60. This is it

As you can see my tank is currently all softies and SPS so I'm not sure where to safely place it. I was thinking of moving the toadstool and placing the hammer under the overhang?

I'm not sure if anyone has chimed in. Buy I would place it on the left side my hammer does well with medium light . You can move Toadstool to substrate

Putting it under that overhang might crowd it a bit. I was thinking about the rock on the far right bottom, if there's nothing on it already. That would give it plenty of room to grow and it looks far enough away from your main rock work. It's a sweet looking hammer though, if you're still debating, I would say get it.

Oooh okay. I have some kenya trees there that I don't mind getting killed but I would like to at least keep my big one since its pretty nice looking.

I do feel it and i moved it to see if it would help i moved it lower in the tank everything els seems to be doing well and everything tests good as far as water

What do you use to test salinity? Something is either too much or too little for it. Are you sure your tests are correct?

I use red sea tester and i just tested it and
Mag-1400 cal -400 Akl 11'2 and i use a refractometer and it says 35

Your alk is very high for that Duncan. Mine will start receding over 10. And even more so with low nutrients. Some corals also don't like mg over 1320. One of my favia's doesn't mind it yet the other one receded terribly.

The first picture was at 1280 the second picture is at 1340 :(

With higher alkalinity you have to keep higher nutrients. Check out the reef chemistry forum. Randy has a lot of great articles on proper chemistry balancing

I bought a beautiful Red Goniopora that adds nice movement also
I agree with the torch and Frogspawn suggestions also
