My glass thickness is 10mm and the mp10’s max thickness is 9.5mm. Do you think that extra .5mm will be a problem?
That'll be fine - just make sure to use the securing cable wraps and you'll be good.

You're only using an MP40 and that's it?When I was doing my research I found that a lot of people don't seem to have any trouble with the MP10s with the 10mm glass, while others seem to have all sorts of trouble. In the end, I decided that I didn't want to take the chance and went with a single MP40 on my IM 50 Lagoon.
What percentage are you running both pumps at?I have a mp40 and a mp10 on my 40b that's predominantly SPS. I wish the mp10 was a 40 because, as someone has already said, the 40 can be dialed down and I'll need another 40 on my new 75g. Also, I don't think anyone has said that a dialed down mp40 is a lot more quiet than a mp10 running at or near top speed.

Hmm interesting. What percentage do you have it on?Yup, just the one MP40. This seems to create plenty of water circulation when combined with the two return outlets of the tank. Of course, the tank is only 2 1/2 months old so I can't say for sure that I won't want to add something to supplement it in the future.

That's interesting. I pulled the trigger on the 2 MP10s. On Innovative Marine's website it says the glass thickness is 10mm, but I measured the side panels (where the MP10s would go) and they measured 9.5mm. I guess we shall see how they hold up. I feel like two MP40s would just be way too excessive and a bigger eyesore. I don't plan on upgrading for a VERY long time. One notch above the minimum. I believe @Griev is also running a single MP40 on an IM 50 Lagoon.

I'm so relieved you've had no issues with the 13mm glass!I have a couple of MP10's in my 6 foot tank to augment flow to certain areas. That glass is almost 13 mm and have had no problems.
One thing to consider is how out of place two huge MP40's are gonna look on a tank that size.
I think so too. Thank you so much for you input! Seriously appreciated. This is a very good point. The MP40, particularly if you add a nem guard, is big! I suspect you'll be very happy with the MP10s.

And yeah big time with the size! It's going to look so silly with two 40s on such a small tank. You've reassured my decision. Thank you!
@dadnjesse don’t mean to hijack the thread but wondering where you placed your MP40s. I’ve got a 120 that’s roughly 48x24x25 with one MP40 on the end. Was thinking about adding a second but really surprised to see four of them. Would appreciate your thoughtsI have 4 MP40's on my 120. They run at 100% in Reef Crest mode and my SPS are growing like crazy.
I have two at each end. My tank is bare bottom so I don't get sand blowing around.@dadnjesse don’t mean to hijack the thread but wondering where you placed your MP40s.
