I'm glad I'm not the only one . I once stop at my LFS before work my wife was dropping me off and bought some new fishes and I made her face time me while she acclimated them and was asking for pictures all day long. Haha. Cool thing about it is she learned to embrace the hobby and now throws her input on things. Something which I like . hey I look at it this way. There's other addictions we could have that aren't good at all

oh the stories i can tell
i was out of town once and 2 new arrivals came in so had wife acclimate them gave her instructions and she followed step one to a tee.
after that bag floated for oh maybe 5 min and they got put in DT at 6 never the less
ALL survived.

I thought I wanted my wife to be interested in my hobby, now I have a 14" starfish that rearranges any frag not bolted down and a 2' eel that randomly shows up right next to my hand when I am working in the tank. Nothing like a blind eel that misses food, grabs the tongs and refuses to let go lurking near your fingers.

She also pets HER unicorn tang and I am pretty sure she doesn't wash her hands.

It is hard to find a good wife that love reefing. If you have one, please treasure her because those combinations don't come around often. I often get asked "When are you going to sell everything and quit this (hohby is not even in that sentence) ?"; I don't show off my new live stock or dry goods at the house. Most male reefers I know have the same issue. I say most because I only know like a 100 reefers; the rest of them I have not talked to or asked that question

Got a raise at work and didn't tell the wife, Just deferred the money to a separate account for my reefing habits. I kinda feel bad...... Bad that I didn't do it along time ago.

My low? When I came home from work and checked in on the fish "and" fed them before I acknowledged my lovely wife. Kids joke when they can't find me all they have to do is check the fish room. It's an "addiction" & I love it.

I'm getting so many ideas that I haven't thought of yet... Sending it to the office is a great idea... She asked me if I'd be home on time today so we could have some fun... I told her I was at the office still... I was really at the fish store

Face time the new babies - check, regular random pictures and videos during the day - check, name all the fish - check, ticked off when water is on the floor -double check.

The topper though, and the reason I knew I had to ask my girl to marry me, was because when we were dating she moved in with me the day before I went to Germany for two weeks. They day I left she acclimated a half dozen blue spot jawfish for me and hand fed them mysis from a turkey baster the entire time I was gone. I use the transfer method, so for this entire period, there were a dozen orange home depot "homer" buckets with airlines running all over the living room floor. All the fish had names by the time I came home

I have my wife name the fish as well. This way she gets attached to them. I have not figured out how to get her caring about the corals though. If only I could afford to buy colonies.

My wife been through my obsession 25 years now,when we lived in n.j, every other Saturday we would hit rt22 and visit all the fish stores,then up to a small place called underwater world.my wife and daughter never complained,God bless them .i thought some day the family would grab me for an intervention.
