How long have you had the Achilles? The second 6 months spells the first stage of "success" IMO.

Moorish idol is alittle skinny yes only had the idol a few days so moorish idol been fine ,

And what I meant by success is that he finally eatting

And powder blue and Achilles they are best friends

Today Will be 2 weeks , he's doing great ich free ( knock on wood ) lol , powder and Achilles are model citizen to each other . Moorish idol doing well so it just a matter of time he will be fat

I hope you properly treated all fish as if they had ich because in one months time you'll see how lucky or unlucky you aren't (95% chance they'll get ich and it gets out of control). Best of luck

I won't be adding any More tangs , I'm just adding a orange tail emperors and a few wrasse and be done with my fish , because Ima go all out dominate SPS lol so no stress in the tank

Achilles pretty much the boss of the tank now

Emperor is likely to bring ich and or velvet with it as well as flukes. Very common in Angels these days

If that the case I'll QT the orange tail emperor , I'm pretty happy with my 3 fish right now lol moorish idol Achilles and powder blue,

Next fish be : orange tail emperor , blotch Anthias , flame wrasse , tinkering butterfly . So almost done with my fish list .

I would qt everything. Or treat your display with hypo and remove corals. I'm telling you PBT and Achilles and many other acanthurus tangs cannot handle parasites like other tangs sometimes can. Idols generally cannot either but once established can be hardy

Don't feel the need to do hypo and kill every beneficial bacteria when the Achilles and PB are ich free . But will keep in mind if they do have a bad break out

You should QT all fish,before they go in your display.Its more important than the display tank itself.

Listen to @3FordFamily He knows what he is talking about. No one is trying to act like they know more than one another but just trying to share personal success and failures. Many tangs can live with ich management like the Zebrasomas and Ctenochaetus tangs. Even with those tangs it is not advisable. Acanthurus tangs cannot deal with ich in the system probably 95% of the time. I thought I could beat the system too with my PBT and not QT. Big mistake. Everything looked good for about 2 months then it came down with ich and could never fight it off and succumbed to a slow death of having the like sucked out of. I felt terrible about it and not a proud moment as I really enjoyed that fish and it didn't deserve that. All other fish in the tank including a yellow and kole tang didn't even show any visible signs of ich just the PBT and it slowly got worse and worse. You have some really nice fish there! Don't jeopardize because they weren't QTed and eliminated ich from your system or at least be ready with a QT tank to fight it because with the two acanthurus tangs you have essentially a tactical ich nuke! lol Best of luck and beautiful fish.

I mean NO disrespect to the OP or anyone else, but it is SO important to QT fish, especially these three you have. I am 100% sure either one or both of the tangs have ICH (that you can't see) and in a few weeks you will have a bad outbreak. Those three alone, are notorious for being "ICH machines".

Great advice from everyone, but the OP seems to think all is well and that nothing bad will happen when they do nothing. They've been warned, so we sit back, cross our fingers and wait...

Please keep us updated. Eating is great but real success is months away. Vegas odds are against this working out well, but time will tell.

I lost no bacteria at all in either 180 gal DT I currently have running hypo.

I hope I am wrong, but I guess check back with us in 1-3 months.

It doesn't look like there are many corals in the tank now, it wouldn't be too hard to put the tank into hypo and pseudo-quarantine them now.

^^THIS^^ I actually thought the op had a fish only tank, from looking at the above pics on my phone I didn't see any coral. While I'm sure the op isn't going to take up anyone's advice regarding possible infestation, which is perfectly fine, his tank his choice, I would at least suggest finishing your fish list first and hold off on buying coral for awhile to ensure everyone lives well and plays well. I have a PBT and an Achilles Tang in a 500 gal thats been together for roughly 4/5 years now, the Achilles rules with an iron fin. They've both have come down with ich several times but thankfully it's a fish only tank. Good luck, stay vigilant, and always be open to advice for those have been at this for YEARS!!!
