because your test kit is faulty. Ammonia test kits are often unreliable and inaccurate.

screw the oxygen, you have continual power outages? This is probably the exact reason. Power outages will bring more fish death than anything else.

All the fish were fine and eating well and I did my weekly tank cleaning. I scrubbed the rocks and cleaned the glass and did my water change.
My parameters were in check so it might have been oxygen or a disease

I’ve been heartbroken by the sudden and unexplained loss of fish so I understand your sadness.
you say everything was perfect and no signs of disease. This may seem like a very silly question to you but do you wear gloves? Is there any possibility that you hands, arms, buckets, brushes etc had anything on them? I think I even just read to make sure you don’t have residual hand sanitizer on your hands then put them in the tank. Just a thought.
