Anyone thirsty??
Nice build. How do you like the 30" depth? any reason for not getting the standard 24" depth? What kind of lights are you running and sump set up? I'm going with miracles for my upcoming build and can't decide between 24 or 30". Love the photos!
Sorry I missed your post earlier. I've had 12,18,and 24" front to back depth tanks in the past, had to give 30 a shot and glad I did! Its hard to capture in my pics, but it is just insane how great the depth is! Seriously if you have the room go for it you really won't regret it IMO. Height wise I will stop at 24", I am 6'5 and fairly long arms but it can be a pain to get frags off the bottom, but I also have a fairly tall stand. Goodluck on making the decision, and thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoy my pics
My sump set up is pretty simple, I made it out of a 40B, I believe there is a pic of it on the 1st page, but there is a skimmer area, a bubble trap area that I filled with rubble and seachem matrix, an open area incase I ever want to run a shallow fuge or something, and then the return pump chamber. My lights are actually super basic and not what most would likely expect on a nearly $2k tank but... they are 3 Evergrow V2 something or others that I bought off ebay for like $80 a pop, no reflectors in a DIY hanging canopy. I run the lights long ways front to back all side by side with just a couple inches between them for full coverage. I bought a few for my frag and qt tanks, liked them and said why not just run all the same lol My outer two units run blues only, with the middle one running mixed. With no reflectors it actually all blends pretty well and doesn't look uneven despite the way they are set up and I don't have a "disco effect", but I do get a bit of nice shimmer
Great shots man. There's quite a few people on here from NR. What is that piece above the Molly?
Thanks man! Yeah there are quite a few, figured itd be good to bring mine over here as well since it doesn't really fit the whole nano thing lol That piece is an awesome bleeding apple bowerbanki
I honestly have never seen or heard a bad comment about Miracles. I have an 8 year old Oceanic 140 that I would like to replace with the same size tank, without the huge center brace and the two monsterous Mega-Flow overflows. I have always liked the Miracles tanks that I have seen, so they are who I am leaning towards when I replace the tank. Reef Savvy is also awesome, but probably out of my price range. Thanks for posting another thread from a happy Miracles owner.
Your tank and inhabitants are awesome. Following along...
Miracles is great, the entire process was a pleasure. I originally wanted a Reef Savvy tank, but they took FOREVER to get me a quote so I had Miracles give me one.... I liked the numbers and when Reef Savvy finally got me a quote (after I ordered this one) I was even happier with my decision as it was seriously around 1/2 the price. I highly recommend Miracles and will order from them again when the time comes!
Thank you!
