Need an advice on moving my 180

Sorry for my slow response. I have been crazy busy because of this house thing.

Bob, I would like to borrow your hand truck for a few weeks if you can part with it for that long. I will be moving a lot of small things on my own. A hand truck or dolly will come in very handy. The closing will be still a month or a month and a half away. I don't think I will be moving anything till closing.

Talking about the sump, I would like to replace my current custom built sump with a shorter one. My current sump is a little taller (by 1.5 inch) than the 40 breeder. I think the foot print is the same as a 40 breeder. That 1.5 inch makes a difference on the in-sump skimmer cup. I cannot easily remove the skimmer cup because of the sump height.

Do you know if Petco is going to do a one dollar sale soon? If not, do any of you know where I can get a decent sump relatively inexpensively?

I moved mine a few years ago and since I fused and zip tied all my rock I couldn't remove everything coral wise. I had some sofies shrooms etc left. I ended up wrapping all the rock work in saltwater soaked towels which they stayed in for a couple hours and everything was fine....but I had a 45 tall and it was a very fast move..

I have a brand new trigger systems elite 30 that i'll let go for $300. I bought it hoping to upgrade, but am not going to have time to mess with it due to my new job.....

I wonder if my skimmer will fit into the opening. My skimmer has 8 inch diameter but as you know it's got all those big pipes. I am adding a large DC pump to it, too. Can you measure the opening for the skimmer?

Sorry for the delayed response, been working nights and days this week..... Skimmer opening is 9.5 x 10 inches.

No, I did not post any skimmer for sale. I do have an old ASM G2 available, though. It's a good skimmer for a smaller tank IMHO.

So we are moving after all! The house we intended to move into was just got appraised for a little higher than seller's asking price. The tentative closing date is June 20th. I have to get the house painted before we move in. I hope we will be moving at the end of the month or early July. Now I have to get busy packing! Yay!
