Last night was a normal night in my tank. Everybody looking great but the nem went from the first to the second floor of the tank. I liked it where it moved too so I went to sleep happy. Guess he wasn’t done walking around. Woke up to cloudy water and the N sucked up into a pup I had adapted into a powerhead. WATER CLOUDY but not very stinky. 5am and my LFS dont open until 11!

Im going to test for ammonia and if there is some present then buy a product to help bring that down(what product tho?)
Emergency water change(how much water volume?) I figured eventually all the water will need changing but maybe not all at once. Anybody have so experience dealing with something like this??!?
I just wanna cuss

Large water change, carbon and prime are your friend right now. Prime or any ammonia detoxifier first, then a large water change. Add a nice big bag of carbon as well.

did you get nem out of tank ? how many gallons, start running carbon now

Y prime before the water change? Wouldn’t it be more defective after it’s been diluted?

Prime works almost immediately. This will allow for time to drain the water, and all that good stuff. Goal 1 is to neutralize the ammonia as fast as possible to buy time.

Got it out as soon as I seen it. About 175g total water volume
That is a good thing being a 175. Hopefully the nem was not huge. You have a lot of water volume to work with.

40 gallon change, prime ,lots of carbon, wait 6hrs no major improvment 30 gallon change

I follow you. Who makes prime?? I think ima have to get a product from petco or petsmart because they open a few hrs earlier.

The reef is sleep so they’re all in bed like normal. I do t see anybody but three clowns and the copperband who are normally out(copperband) and the clowns are normally in the Nem lol. They all seem fine but I know that could change the longer this takes. Now I wish I kept salt mix at home!! And emergency prime lol. Until this nem tho I have never had a tank emergency so I never thought I’d need to keep extras around but hey, guess I’m getting schooled today lol

how ever you can get in system sooner t better put that in too high flow areas in sump
