NeoNitro Issue?

Its not a problem with getting the nitrates up because I can add a bunch more, however, when I do, I end up with the black slime all over the chateo and in the sump. Do you have any issues with that?

Never had that issue. Closest to it is cyano and even then usually increasing flow through the fuge fixes that.

That's because it's binding into the rocks and sand. At some point you will reach super saturation point and then bam exploding high phosphate as it slowly leached. I am going through this now. Coral aminos raise phosphates. Reef roids is the worst.
Reef roids isn’t coral aminos. It’s marine plankton. Much more likely to raise phosphates than ab+.

I've used them both. They both raise phosphate but roids is worse. If you notice also, I used the term coral supplements not just aminos.

that is one side of the label, the dosing instructions are on another side not pictured there on Amazon.

I'm in the middle of solving my aiptasia issue in my sump with 4 peppermint shrimp and a file fish but it seems to be a longer process than anticipated. I confirmed that these were the correct peppermints per the picture confirmation, though I've only seen my small file fish eat some.

Does the aiptasia absorb a lot of nitrates and phosphates?

Well tried testing the water after 3 hours later and now I'm at .2 ppm nitrates...
How much coral do you have? This is just a SWAG but you could have had a lot of biomass that was deficient. Keep dosing a few days and see if it levels off. After a dino outbreak I had to dose insane amounts for 2-3 days and then consumption declined and leveled out at a manageable 2ppm/d.

I don't know how much I have relatively but here is a fts.

I did have a dino out break about a year or so ago but don't know what to look for during the aftermath. However I did notice that my rocks didn't have coralline on them anymore of have the blackish algae. That is going away as I dosed double the recommended amount of ab+

I would cut the light way back on the fuge until you get your numbers where you want them. That or throw out half the chaeto.

Is it better to add daily nitroneo vs cut back on lighting or growth for stability of the tank?

I would certainly raise nutrients before cutting back in lighting of the main display, if the goal of cutting back lighting is to maintain some nutrients.

So I didn't take a picture but one of the tanks had a lot of black slime that built up in the fuge. However not on the chateo yet but I ended up just turkey bastering it out.
