If one magically showed up at my door for free it would still cost many lots of money. I would have to go by the controller then :p

Quite the rant

And? They'll take it back and sell to any of the other 100+ people that are still waiting for one. You got a unit with an incorrect cable. Big deal, someone in packaging made an error on an obviously small amount of units, and they stuck an extension cable in there by mistake.

My warehouse guys ship $300,000+ worth of product monthly. Guess what....? Even the customers ordering 75K worth of material will have a minor error with their order sometimes. It's what happens when you employ human being to complete a task instead of a robot. We are not infallible.

If you are going to act like this at the slightest little hiccup with a piece of equipment, well Reef2Reef is going to love you because you'll be spending more time on this website ranting than enjoying the hobby.
Also if you can't take the heat, then get outta the kitchen>

I read this as I literally just scored the single trident in stock at saltwateraquarium....

I have a love hate relationship with them, they are getting better but their products are literally the only things that have failed in my 11 years into the hobby.

it’s technology so I can accept it but what really irks me is their support forums are moderated by the scum of the earth. mentally unstable power hungry wimps that probably can’t command any respect IRL. They literally perma banned me back in the day when I really needed help. I asked question about replacing Nozzles on DOS with John guest fittings to help prevent loss of prime and they accused me of creating panic. It was a simple two line question. i bought this dos as soon as it was avail and it would lose prime and dump the liquid into my tank from the exit side of the pump. They eventually replaced the heads for me after calling them and it fixed it.

still have not lifted the ban and deleted a second account I tried to make. Relentless little guys over there :)

Other than a good punch in the mouth to their forum mods I do like the company and it’s product lineup lately. I’m not even sure the forum is run by actual employees.

Funny you mention that. I go perma banned from their forums for asking for help with coding. When I said the coding on of their "mods" didn't work, and they should really not give coding advice if they don't know how to code properly. I got perma banned. No explanation, nothing.

I do really like their products, but if you take that stance, I will be looking at other products when it comes time to update.

Take ecotech for example. When the Versa came out there was complaints of it loosing prime/leaking at the fittings. Within hours they issued a statement, and a fix. Now thats top notch CS.

Alright an update that their QA process around cables still needs work. First time customer took the bullet to give up on manual testing and ordered an Apex EL + Trident. The apex el works fine but trident was sent with the extension cable instead of the link cable. Reached out to them and BRS and my wait continues. I thought a 600$ system would have a fool proof assembly but it seems not. A simple color coding to differentiate between these cables seems like a feasible solution to me but who knows what’s their assembly line looks like.

Im going to get very technical......you ready ......they suck !
Well, I would reserve it until I see the product more. So far their products seem to be the best in the market based on reviews. I am sure in my case replacing a cable is not going to be hard on them.

Yes, your right, high grade plastic for 1000 bucks

They have products within an ecosystem, and they work. The ecosystem is fantastic.

The actual products IMO are very cheaply made. A DOS unit is not on the same level of design, production or QC as a Versa. You can simply pick the product up and it's very apparent.
