Everything has been going well since the stand switch. My coral has been doing fantastic. Picked up several different acans and a few more sps over the Black Friday sales. The only problem I've had has been suicidal wrasses. One jumped out and croaked that I've had for almost a year. The other jumped out while I was watching and I saved him. Purchased new bulbs for my fixture today. Had to raise it up so I don't shock the coral.

You need a screen top for your tank. I think it’s unethical to keep fish that jump in a tank with no top. Most fishjump, whether being startled or just because like wrasse, etc.

Love the corals, some really nice colors in there.

Tank is pretty much in grow mode now. I got an order from aqua S D which pretty much filled it with sps. No more room for sticks. Have some aiptasia I'm dealing with so I bought a filefish. If he starts munching on coral, he will find a new home...

Tank is still in grow mode. Everything is doing very well. I've recently got a few new fish. A magnificent foxface and a male square spot anthias.

I’ve completed my fish list with a pair of Bali Picasso clowns. I’ve added a few reefraft frags and some high end zoas. Still in grow mode.

Well it’s been a while since I updated my build thread. Both my cheap jebao powerheads died on me so I purchased two new Tunzes. All I can say is wow! They are worth the money. Tanks doing great just growing.

looking great. I've lucked out with my jebao powerheads so far. The controller on one isn't working but the ph works. I might buy a new controller.

Thanks... yes I got about a year out of them.
I managed to get one of them working again as a back up but one burned up. I went with the most reliable powerheads on the market this time.

I used the current eflux on my new build and am liking them. I figure if I can get a year or more, then the cost is such that I can afford to replace. Oh, what makes these in your opinion better and worth the extra money

Been a while since I’ve updated my thread: Learn from my STUPIDITY: My tank has pretty well been on cruise control for a year and a half. 4 days ago though I had a near disaster. I made a DIY skimmate collector because we are about to go on a long road trip. It worked well until my skimmer over flowed one night and caused my ATO to pull 15-20 gals of fresh H2O as dirty tank water slowly leaked on my floor. I’m very fortunate I didn’t lose any livestock and that I was home and not on our trip. My salinity dropped down to 1.020. I slowly brought it back up and everything is fine. (Aside from my wife wanting to kill me as I shop vacuumed water from our carpet.) ‍ I ordered an AVAST Marine skimmate locker which I installed this evening. Don’t cheap out in this hobby it never pays....As a veteran hobbyist, I knew better.

Tank rock work crashed recently when I was trying to catch a nusiance fish. Ive been frustrated but finally got it re-scaped. Lost a few pieces and my skimmer went nuts for a week:

It was a damsel that was supposed to be reef safe that I knew better than to put in my tank. It became a terror. I caught a key piece of rock with my net and knocked the main rock down.

-New tank is a custom built rimless 120 by visio with custom stand and trigger sump. I'll be running an ati 6 bulb t5 with reef brites for now. Looking at a quantum skimmer or possibly Deltec. The new tank won't be done until mid Oct. I'm excited !

I'm new here and just came to check out tanks and your setup is amazing! I'm jealous. I have a 55 gallon with sump and looking into possibly getting next size up. Any suggestions?

Thanks !! I love a 120 gal footprint always have. Wish I would have done a coast to coast overflow. Tanks with a wide or deeper footprint are easier to to scape. Not sure what your budget is but Red Sea makes fantastic tanks that are complete and just need the skimmer, pumps and lights... probably the cleanest looking tanks aside from custom builds. I’d go with the biggest tank you can afford because they fill up fast...I already wish I would have done a 240 gal cube. ‍
