New ATO coming out By Red Sea w/ level and temperature sensor !!

Ok just questions but if you look at the picture vetteguy posted at start of thread that's a really short cable from the pump to the controller. Unless they are shipping a longer cable version pretty sure that's not 10ft. Even with contacts you are going to get buildup and fouling so don't take it for granted. This would be pretty awesome if it had a mechanical backup float switch.
The cable length to the pump from the controller is 10 feet, the cable length from the controller to the sensor is 6.5 feet. I do have this unit installed. On the sensor there are 5 pins the lower one is the temp sensor, the two above that are your high/low any 1 inch above that are the back up pump off which may or may not touch any water depending on how much your water level rises when you shut your pump off.

At $199 looks very promising and cost effective !!

The ReefATO+ is designed to maintain a stable salinity and water volume in a reef aquarium by automatically replenishing the water lost due to evaporation. In addition, the ReefATO+ provides two other critical aquarium health indicators: a fully featured on-line digital temperature monitor and a leak detector.

I have one and love it!! Makes it easy to track and see temp on phone.

Why my Red Sea ATO pump is quite loud? Some of my friends also figure it as loud as Tunze. Is it normal?

No... Make sure it is not touching the side of the container and there is not an air bubble trapped in the pump. I would say mine is about half as quite as my Neptune Pmup

Three weeks with this installed and I'm very impressed. The top off log is super neat and the low reservoir reminder is handy as well. Pump is quiet, will be interested to see it's longevity.

Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone and especially for Red Sea owners since the sump already has the slot built in for the sensor

EDIT: Forgot about the temp sensor as well. Nice addition and added redundancy for my other temp probe

Looks like I have a purchase to make. Even the tunze fails me. Time to try another entrant.
I was using an Innovative Marine Hydro Fill Ti previously so this upgrade was much needed. I've heard good things about the Tunze and they have a good track record. Obviously the Tunze has a much longer track record vs the new ReefATO+ but I would struggle to recommend the Tunze over it at this point. Especially with the Tunze costing $30 more.

I'll get out in front with this. I clean my probes and pumps at each water change.

I used the hydrofill first. It failed in weeks. Was replaced with another IM unit. Also failed.

Reefbreeders Prism next. It's been the most reliable this far for me. I got about 1 year on a sensor.

Tried the tunze. It failed to trigger a fill multiple times while I was on vacation. Luckily my kid was watching the house and hand filled for me.

Back to reefbreeders. 18 Mo's on one sensor.

Three weeks ago I tried the Kamoer ATO One 2 SE. It over fills to the overfill protection sensor 3/4 of the time. I hope it's just a one off. But my experience with ATO's says the next one will also fail in spectacular fashion.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy the red sea or steal a bunch of fluid level sensors and relays from work and build my own in fusion 360. This is how I should have done it years ago.

Reliable fluid level sensors aren't that dang expensive. I don't know why the ATO people can't get this right.

Tunze is still the gold standard, period.

I've used the same 3155 for 10 years with only 1 replacement to the pump. Head unit/sensors are still rock solid as the day I bought it with 0 fails.

One day people will wake up and realize red sea is 99% hype, and marketing. Their stuff really does not work all that well long term.

Probably the old tunzes are as you claim. The new ones aren't much better than any other. The nano unit is trash however.

Perhaps, I have no experience with the newer tunze units, and I will agree the nano unit is pure trash.

I'll be happy to report back on longevity in a few years. Although, I'm only one person.

Red Sea is including this ATO in all their new G2+ tanks so we will have a bunch of these in the wild to give it a reasonable comparison vs Tunze after some time

For me, if I click on the empty grey space within the ATO+ window in the reef beat app, it gives me more detailed data. Same for the auto fill. Not sure why buttons don't appear. Perhaps other people have missed this too

To be completely honest, apart from seam failures on tanks in the us, i havent heard any complaints about red sea equipment. Yes they use a bit of marketing but so do many reefing companies. All in all i think the equipment is very solid, build quality imo is leagues ahead of tunze.

This was a problem yesterday, i dont know way it happend, sudenly the water was goont down the emergansy pipe

I've been using the new red Sea ato for two weeks now. All was great up untill yesterday.

I was at work when I got a message that it had detected a leak! So, I rushed home, but upon inspection no leaks were found. I checked the leak sensor for things like salt creep, but it was spotless and dry. The unit had halted operation and I chose the resume option.

4 o'clock in the morning it happened again. Checked it again and nothing. Therefore I now disabled the leak sensor completely.

Even if it is now "resolved" for me, what does this say about the quality? Is the quality of the ato sensor just as reliable as the leak sensor?!?!

This was and has been the reason I hadn't ordered one yet. Not specifically a faulty leak detection sensor.

Multi function products rarely do any one function well and most functions they fail at. This applies to everything. Not just a Reda Sea ATO.
