New Clownfish! | First ever saltwater fish.

Well, all my freshwater tanks are lid-less and I’ve never had an issue with them. I would like to get a lid though.

Would acrylic would well?

No, acrylic warps. People often make lids out of window screen kits. BRS sells them.

Do you have a good LFS that carries saltwater around Lexington?

Clowns look good.

Super healthy looking fish dude! Makes me want some designer clowns :(
Thanks! You totally should, they are amazing!!

Not sure about Lexington, sorry, I’m only up there once a week.

If you can make the drive, I highly highly recommend checking out PETropilis LIVE (Movie Vault), in Lawrenceburg, that’s my LFS.

They have some awesome fish there, and a huge frag tank.

Ah, I assumed you went to a place in Lexington.

That place looks...unique haha. Will definitely check them out when I'm out that way.

Sorry, not really that good of pictures but it is an awesome place.

Awesome, clowns are some of my favorite fish other than Purple Tang (love them for some reason). My Clowns love the corner of my tank at night, other than that they swim all over. Good luck, saltwater has its ups and downs.

Those clowns are too cute. Decided on names yet?
Thank you!

No, not yet, still deciding. ;Nailbiting

They are also one of my favorites! Right now, they are chilling near the rocks, but they usually stay under the powerhead. (No clue why clowns like powerhead so much...)

They are new to the system. Give it time.

I just went to my LFS and picked up a pair of Snowflake Clownfish!! These are my first ever saltwater fish.

I got them for $40 each and I also got a Turbo Snail.

I’ll get better pictures once they are in the tank and have acclimated. :)

I’m going to use frozen mysis shrimp (also picked up a sheet of that today) and New Life Spectrum Marine pellets to feed them, in case anyone was interested.

——

In case any of your were wondering (from following my other threads) I did take some samples of my water to my LFS for them to test it on their kits, and everything came back normal. The only difference was the nitrates were a bit lower than I gathered.
Beautiful pair!

Thank you! I think they are bonded, which is so good. I have noticed zero aggression and they always swim together. :) :)

Thats good :) usually it will take a few days or weeks before you notice slight aggression, when they become comfortable in their new tank and are ready to begin properly bonding, so they will fight between them who becomes female. Usually the larger one becomes female.
Just watch out for some fin nipping
Good luck

They are pretty much the same size now, so pretty impossible to tell. ;Shifty

I will look out for any aggression!
