new clowns "rapid breathing" isolated behavior

The clown is in QT, since yesterday. I am picking up CP tomorrow (over an hour away at a compounding pharmacy) if it is not crazy expensive - my fish does not have medical insurance..
Otherwise I should have the copper I ordered from Amazon. The white clown does not look as bad overall, but it is white, so not as obvious. Although its behavior is better. Not eating yet though that i can tell. I put in a few pods that are swimming around, if it is going to eat I imagine it would eat those first. I dont want alot of waste to pollute the water. I wish there was a fish store closer than 2 hours away. I do not drive much so it is a big challenge. At least I will have these things on hand now.

A colleague spoke with New Life Spectrum at MACNA, asked why is their CP so much cheaper than buying from a US pharmacy and was told because it comes from China.

The price can vary. I typically pay between $2-3/gram; however I've seen some pharmacies sell it for as high as $6-7/gram. One gram treats 25 gallons of water, so IMO it's a deal either way when you compare to the avg cost of just one SW fish.

still in DT ;( setting up QT now, should take a couple hours max. Just did water change last night, did not notice issues with fish. so had to make fresh salt today. Do I add tank water from DT or fresh salt for QT? I know it is a silly question... but not sure.

Use fresh saltwater in your QT. You can use both, but why not just start fresh in water that doesn't have parasites floating around in it? ya know? Good luck!

Shards? Can you get a picture? Is it like the skin is coming off in pieces or like little worms attached to the skin?

Being we suspected brook early on in this thread and you have Ruby Reef Rally already on hand, this is what I recommend you do:
- Setup the QT using all new water, temp/SG matched to the DT
- Transfer each fish one by one from the DT into the QT, giving them a 60 min bath using Ruby Reef Rally before they ever enter the QT. This will clear them of brook, if they have that.
- Once they are all in QT treat using Cupramine, slowly bringing the Cu level up to 0.5 over a period of 3-4 days.
- Keep the Furan-2 close by, as you may need it.
Below is how you administer the Rally bath. Use the same water you mixed for the QT.
Use a 2-5 gallon bucket or small tank (I use a 2.5 gallon tank for doing chemical baths). Dose a little bit more than 1/2 teaspoon of Rally per gallon of water (it's actually 3/5 - but you can overdose with Rally no problem). Aerate heavily both before & during the bath, and temperature control the water. After 60 minutes, remove the fish from the bath and place into the QT. Repeat this process one fish at a time (due to limited available oxygen in the bath water) and DO NOT start raising the copper until all fish are in the QT. FYI; you can reuse the bath water for all the fish so long as you continually aerate/temperature control the water.

OK, started with one fish, the blue chromi. the others I cannot catch yet without stressing them. I have a trap set up so there is no stress. If this does not work for all of them I will try the net. My tang hangs out in a piece of coral, so may have to take it out to get her out. Also, what about shrimp? I have sexy shrimp and a cleaner. Also a mandarin whos tail looks like it has been shredded.. Do I treat the mandarin also?

Sorry to hear about the mandarin. You dont need to worry about the shrimp. Leave them in the DT.
