New fish bacterial infection?

It is not as red there is a lot more necrotic tissue around the area. He is so flighty though I can't get a good pic

If it is bacterial, it is probably Aeromonas spp.

Read this about Aeromonas and Vibrio, and see if it lines up: http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/vibrio_aeromonas.html

You saying necrotic tissue has me thinking Vibrio now as the likely culprit.
These look very much like the culprit. I have them all in a tank now with kanaplex and metroplex. [emoji22] doesn't bode well for the poor guy but hopefully I can save the others. I am draining the tank they were in. Should an over night bleach do the trick?

Thank you all for the help! I will be happy when I have the major stocking done. I don't mind one or two fish in qt but doing multiple qt rounds at one go is tough lol. On the bright side little hippo is ich free and doubled in size!

Everyone survived the night! So the directions on the antibiotics say to treat every two days for three doses. Should I be doing wc in between or no?

If needed yes. I'd do them right before the next dose

No deaths yet but one baby cardinal seems close. Very weak and emaciated. Not sure it's related. Redness is decreased in the original gudgeon. Another appears to be developing a pimple/pus pocket on his chin if that is another clue.

Can you post some updated pics? Antibiotics are notoriously slow acting in fish. Are you just treating with Kanaplex and Metroplex? I would add Furan-2 to this mix if you can.

I just got the furan 2 on my lunch break. Will dose when I get home. I will break out my old camera and see if I can snap a pic. Maybe I should ask for photography lessons for Christmas [emoji31] .

Update on all my sick fish: baby cardinal died. I personally wouldn't have shipped such small fish [emoji53] . The gudgeon ate live brine today so I am hoping it means his mouth is feeling better. I decided to add the CBB that has lymph into the dt. His qt period is over and that is the most stressfree environment for him. My old fish that I bought the tank for have/ were exposed to one of theses viruses so the tank won't be lymph free anyway. My best bet is to keep the fish asymptomatic. He has more room and constant food sources now.

So if I follow the directions I have just given the last dose of kanaplex. Should I continue giving it at 48 hour intervals? He is much better but is not cured. The metroplex has another 2 weeks and the furan 2 has 1 more dose if I am reading things correct.

I believe you should continue them all for the duration. Ive never done them all together myself, but if the metro is 2 more weeks then keep doing the others for those two weeks.

I would continue all treatments for 10 days, regardless of what the directions say. Just do WCs as per the instructions.

Update all still alive! Going to add carbon today and watch for a few days. There is still discoloration and possibly a little necrotic tissue but it appears the infection may be gone!

Oh and CBB has no more active lymph spots. I also have no more feather dusters [emoji22] lol. He managed to take out one with a fan the size of half dollar...

Having a healthy CBB is worth more than all the feather dusters in the world. ;)

So it has been about one week post meds and everyone looks fantastic. It is even becoming hard to tell which goby was infected. How long would you guys recommend keeping them under observation
