New Mag

I’m by no means an expert in mag treatments but you might want to try use a baster and gently try to remove any discharged material or broken pieces. I did that everyday of treatment for mine and also ran a hang-on-back skimmer during the lights-on period (since light breaks down the cipro rendering less effective) and turned it off during the treatment period at night. Other than that keep up the good work it looks good to me.

I might dig through my totes of fish stuff in the shed. I think I have a hang on the back skimmer in there and didn’t even think about it. Thanks for the advise and also thanks for documenting your experience as the information has helped me

Day 2 treatment began at 6 pm

It’s an hour into the 2nd day of treatment and the discharge finally came out. But shortly after more appeared but this time with a tiny air bubble. I do try to aid the anemone with a turkey blaster but it seems the stuff is coming from deep within so I don’t want to over do it

All loose discharge has been siphoned out already

This was taken this morning around 6 am about 12 hours into the 2nd day of treatment

So the first Mag that is bleached is still doing well. Noticed the Tentacles are starting to get a yellow tint to them this morning just before lights on so that’s a plus

Also the second Mag was looking better this morning about 12 hours into day 3’a treatment. Looks like the mouth isn’t as gapping and not nearly as much discharge as the past 2 days

Here is a picture just before starting day 4 treatment. Picking this thing up today so I could do a 100% water change was quite the challenge because it’s now bigger than the plate.

And here is the 2nd Mag 12 hours into day 4 treatment. So far it hasn’t deflated since before treatment. Mouth is still open but not gapping

Day 5 treatment started at 8pm
Discharge is minimal now and not deflating

Didn’t get a picture of it this morning but it is at 12 hours into day 6 treatment and the mouth was looking a little more closed and not much discharge in the tank.
