New Reefer trying a Nuvo 20

Been awhile and the diatoms are finally almost gone. Now I've got this green stuff starting to come int, not sure what it is so I guess I will just wait and see.

Finally starting with my corals now, got a zoo from my LFS. I counted 12 heads on it so far so we will see what the actual count is once they open up. For now, heres some closed shots IMG_7363.JPG FullSizeRender.jpg

Looks great! I'm just starting to set up my first tank as well and it's also a Nuvo 20. How is the noise level from the pump? Looking forward to see more!

Long time no post, I've been super swamped (great joke by me, I go to UF) at school so lost track of keeping up here. More photos to hold everyone over, I've been having a bit of a debris problem but I've got some filter floss on the way to see if that will snag some of it up. Also picked up a favia today, really love its colors. IMG_7472.JPG IMG_7473.JPG IMG_7474.JPG

Picked up another friend for the tank today, orange spotted goby. Hoping he will be fairly useful in stirring up the sand a bit. IMG_7513.jpg

Made some changes to the coral placement recently, the zoas looked to be stretching a lot for the light so I've tried putting them higher on the opposite side of the tank and putting a torch in their old place. Doing a large water change tomorrow morning that way I can take some time to clean off the rocks and some hard to reach places.

Well thanks to black friday I picked up 8 corals from @WWC and I must say it is the best decision I have ever made in my life. Heres a quick video of what I got. Listed in order, Pink/Green Platy,Mint Massacre Favia, Dino Egg Chalice, Funny D Zoas, Agent Orange Echinata, Rainbow Micromussa, Salted agave Zoa, Tan Lady Leptoseris

I'm looking to get started soon, so this thread has been helpful, thanks!

How did you do your scaping, as far as keeping everything together? I love the look of the arch, and I'd like to do something similar in mine, when I actually get going with it.

The tank is looking awesome! Congratulation on the new corals. :)

My scaping was pretty easy to set up due to the pieces of rock I received, the arch is actually two different rocks that I was able to set together perfectly to make it look like one arching rock. I know many people who will use different types of epoxy or even dowels, in the end though it definitely just depends on the rocks that you get!

Does anyone no of any good epoxy. I seen coraline purple epoxy any heard of it ?
