im having trouble catching my second filefish any thoughts on how to catch this fish before it kills my millis.

I bought two matted filefish and will be selling them back...they are picking at my corals and have yet to touch my aiptasia. to me the berghias are my last resort.

My experience as well. I’ve used every aiptasia cure there is in the 13 years I’ve been in the hobby. The only thing that works every time without fail is berghias. So long as you don’t have a fish that eats them before they can do their thing. To be honest berghias are only out at night. So if you buy a dozen and can protect them for a day they will usually survive.

They will stoop very low to get to aiptasia when their hungry, wether its inside your skimmer or overflow. They'll be sure to get them also.

My experience also. They find every aiptasia no matter where.

I used a small plastic cricket container with a mag float to hold it against the glass. I kept it lower than the top of the water level and put food in the container and the fish would enter through the top getting used to eating inside the the cricket container. When the filefish went in, I moved the magnet upwards and viola! Trapped Filefish!

I did use filefish to get rid off my aiptasia but he kill my rock anemone to he was back to the fish store

Had a huge aiptasia outbreak several months ago. Tried several peppermint shrimp and none of them did a thing. Tried aiptasiaX and aside from giving me something to do every night it didn't seem to help much. I ended getting some berghia nudis and at first I thought they were a waste of money, but a couple of months later, there's not an aiptasia to be found.
