New to Berghia Nudis.

so I will try and remove the melenarus since he is the easiest to catch...pig lol. the filefish are really messing with my sps and I just don't like that.the nudis probs are my beest option as of now.

I had a moderate aip infestation in my 90g reef. I had 2 blue star leopard wrasses and a melanarus at the time, as well as 4 peppermint shrimp. Supposedly all 3 wrasses and the peppermint shrimp would eat them, but they never bothered any of them. I only added 5 adult nudis, they basically disappeared for the 1st month (saw one or two here occasionally) but then at about the 4-5 week mark i started seeing more and more and then i saw swarms of them crushing aiptasia until they took everything out in about a week.

I bought 25 for $117 from Salty Underground. They cleared my tank. I have a melanarus, chrysus(coris), and leopard Wrasse. I added the nudis after lights out, no problems.

In my old tank I had to introduce them once a year. They work great but not a permanent fix for my tank.

In 15 years I have had to use them three times. The first time I found a local supplier and bought two large with eggs, problem solved. The second time I bought online 3 large problem solved. The third I bought five, and once again problem solved. Buy large and a egg string or two. I used peppermints once they ate the aptaisa, but then started on my corals so I removed them and the aptaisa came back. While adding them watch them until they disappear into a rock crevice

I tried a filefish and it worked out great for me, now it'll eat anything I throw on the tank. He's a cool looking fish too.

I have had a Matted File fish for about 2-3 months now. My aiptasia has not gone away. He devours the food I feed, Reef Frenzy though....

Do I still have a chance at mine taking to them??

Had a bad outbreak. Aiptasia-X just seemed to cause them to spread. Picked up 2 large and 3 small from Salty Underground and followed their instructions on releasing at night with pumps off. Did not see much results for several months, but then started seeing them regularly. After a couple more weeks you could see the aiptasia disappearing from one side of the tank to the other. Started picking groups out and trading for corals. At the end I caught and sold over 130 of them and made $500.

I got mine from Salty Underground as well! I have an aiptasia infest tank and I released about 25 of the berghia nudis into the system. It works, but it also takes time. I've had them over a month now and I've seen about a 1/3 decrease in the infestation. I would see the aiptasia deflate and then be gone. Once in a while, I would see a huge nudi that would come out to lay eggs or search for aiptasia. If it's all white, I would suck it with my feeder tube and put it somewhere by an aiptasia colony. I've dumped a few in the sump as well. The thing is, don't expect to see them around like your typical lettuce nudi. These berghia nudis will not be in place sight and sometimes it will leave you wondering, did they die or get eaten?

I have a pretty good amount of Aiptasia. Also what size Nudi?

I had my filefish for about the same time then BOOM over the course of a few days ALL OF THEM GONE... My 300 was overrun with them....

I would get at least 10. Some don’t survive some might get eaten by fish. Don’t be tempted to drop them into an area infested with Aiptasia as the anemones can actually eat the Berghias if they are dropped into one. Let them come out on their own.

I have a 65 gal mixed Reef. I had probably 500-1000 aiptasia. Too much to do anything about manually. Added 10 nudis from salty underground. I used the pipette to place them in a nook / cranny in my rock that was protected from direct flow, while the lights were out. They disappeared over a few days from that spot. In a little over 5-6 weeks I couldn't find a single aiptasia.
If I get any again, it's nudis for me!

At the first signs of Aptasia in my tank I tried Peppermint but they didn't last long with my Melanurus. After I added a Copper Band they did seem to disappear for a while but a few months later they were starting to make a comeback. The only time I use Aptasia-X is to kill the ones that are out in the open and easy to get to, the ones in the crevices I wouldn't bother with anymore because I noticed instead of dying they would spread and because of this my tank is starting to get over run with them now.
I was reluctant on adding Nudis because of the expense and the likelihood of getting eaten by my Wrasse. Now that I know the Nudis are nocturnal and my Wrasse is buried in the sand way before lights out I'm going to pull the trigger and order some as soon as the temps warm up a bit for safe shipping.

Depends on how fast you want to see results. My tank is 55 gallon and had a large infestation. 2 large and 3 small took several months before I started to see results. That is partly because they will stay under your rocks eating the aptasia you can't see before they are forced to come into visible areas.
