Not sure how I can create a refuge on a nano. And I’m terrible with all sorts of diy lol. But I’ll search online.

The temperature issue was a blip. I don’t think it will happen in the foreseeable future. If it does, I’ll try to get a small chiller or so.

Let’s do this :)

Whoa talk about taking it up a notch.
Go “big” or go home. I just want it to work. I rather spend a bit more and be happy with the outcome than save here and there and be frustrated as hell.

Nice! Adding another DI canister at some point would be beneficial.. it allows you to completely exhaust resin before changing and eliminates possibility of your 1st DI canister leaching contaminates back into the water at the end of its life.

Update:
Been doing 5/10% daily water changes.
Got a sea hare (Dolabella) that will go back to the LFS once her job is done here (small tank for her). So far, didn’t see her picking that much. But goes around.
Also got a emerald crab. It’s been a while I wanted one and now it seemed to be the best time for it.

The algae isso is about the same. I noticed that the filter sock gets full much faster lately. And it seems there’s more in suspension (that ends up in the sock). Not sure why...

Still a very ugly tank lol
Also, the algae looks red-ish at times. I guess it’s from the lights.

Ahaha thanks =)
I only live in Belgium. I’m actually Portuguese. And...we also did good :)
Ofc, after Portugal was eliminated, I was rooting for Belgium.
Ooops, sorry!... yes but that 1st game vs Spain was AMAZING!

The thing with grabbing it by hand is not easy.. it isn’t very long. I try to use a brush, but I can’t remove most of it out of the water...

He let the GHA grow so it'll be easier to grab, then treated the water w Phosphate RX for 24 hrs to weaken the GHA's grip.

I got that.. the issue is that mine doesn’t grow longer...just that fuzzy carpet as in the pics I posted earlier.
I’ll look for that phosphate Rx too. Thanks

if it's not growing tall/long, then it's probably not GHA. Fuzzy carpet that doesn't come off easily sounds like turf algae, should refer to this website to confirm https://www.reefcleaners.org/nuisance-algae-id-guide
I still think it’s GHA. It doesn’t have a “root” and it is easily blown from the rocks and glass..
It also forms a sort of carpet on the sand.. if I blow it there, it just makes disgusting rolls of sand mixed with it.
My doubt is with lyngbya.... but let’s see...
I got chemi-pure to see if it helps...

The sea hare seems to be more interested in film algae than anything else.. the snails are so effective they got algae growing on them.

Worst case scenario, if I don’t see any reasonable improvement, next weekend I’ll remove all rocks, save the few corals and wash them until they’re pristine. I’ve been battling this thing since May...

that sounds like cyano (they can be red or green), can u grab it or does it disintegrate in your finger (slimey)? If it disintegrates, then its cyano. Another way to confirm is to siphon an area and increase the water flow in that area. If it doesn't grow in that area w increased flow then its cyano.
