SO in my daily reefing , testing , cleaning glass , salt creep , Etc.... My wife informs me the we(I) use 5 rolls
of paper towels a week just on the tank and associated.. Plain white bounty of course!! I have not seen this discussed or talked about. I realize it really is just pennies in comparison to most tank related maintenance. Anyone else burn through the paper towels?

I pick up packs of towels at the hardware store. You can get a 25 or 50 pack for relatively cheap, then toss them in the wash and all set to go :)

Ayyyyup. Got a pack of rags from Home Depot that helps but nothing gets all the water off better than a paper towel.

It’s true. I go through a lot of paper towels too. Although, I went to Costco and found these very nice all cotton, white towels (10 towels for $20 bucks) that I have been using that have been keeping my paper towel usage down to a dull roar. Wash in hot water, non-perfume, non-toxic soap and dry on hot in the dryer with no dryer towels. That way the towels stay pristine of perfumes, soaps and all the bad stuff. Great for clean up and water changes especially if there is an accident like water all over the floor.

A 'Box of Rags' will go a long way, great product!!

I always keep my old work polos and cut them down to make bike rags. I am about to cut up a ton of them as the program we run for this client "sunsets" in October. Great way to repurpose, I already feel guilty enough about using as many paper towels as I do to clean.

Besides those things have gotten expensive.

PS - Does anyone actually understand paper towel (or TP) math? 8=12 but 12=15, 6=11.375!! It makes common core look easy!!

I will look at Sam's I have no Costco in my area.

I see a lot of hand towel use and i do use them but i am not able to get streak free or the cloudy film off my glass unless i use paper towels. You all achieve clear glass with hand towels?
What I do is after I am done with my water change and have everything just about cleaned up, I take get a paper towel wet with RO water and wipe down the aquarium or whatever has saltwater on it. Then, take the clean cotton towel and dry it off. It will come much cleaner than with paper towels alone because the cotton towel has texture. If you have one that has too much salt on it already, it won’t work.

We have designated towels. Human, bunnies, dog, aquarium, livestock. Lol
So far we've never had any issues getting them mixed up. It's probably because each one has a different color.
....and some are "furry". My tank is small..29 gal....so no...I use old towels for floor cleanup and usually put a towel down when I'm doing sump stuff.

I am periodically buying my wife new bath towels as we all know that "OH S*&T" moment and need to soak up water. I just run to the bathroom closet and grab what i need to address the mess. When the emergency is over and cleaned up give the wife a hundred dollar bill then drive her to Bed Bath and Beyond for her to buy new towels.
I recall someone saying this reefing thing was expensive!! LOL!

Actually as the towels get worn out they move down the line. Lol none are furry, I do use some paper towels but mainly the towels kept specifically for the tanks.

I have to put 3 towels down at all times. WE just had new carpet installed a few months ago. Staining the new carpet would be a mortal sin!
