Paul's 40 Gallon Reef

Man I like that new blasto. I've been looking for one like it for awhile now. I have one like your original and it's up to about 30 heads now. Found a picture of it from years back where it was a single head. How are the flower nems doing? I have a red and a green one. I gave up on trying to place them. They'll stay in one location for weeks or months and then move somewhere else. Sometimes they disappear behind the rocks and in a couple of weeks they move back out into the light. Excellent looking tank.

Thanks! Yea, this is the first blasto I've seen like this in my area ever, so I had to get it! I actually got rid of the rock flowers a while back and decided to go with the smaller Mini-Maxi's. I had a realy bright yellowish green skirt one that has disappeared on me (never really was happy anywhere) & I still have my multicolored one that has been doing fantastic since the day I added it. Here is a photo of the one I still know that I have.

Current FTS after getting rid of the sebae anemone and giving the Monti caps their own little island where the euphyllias where. The front left side is prone to change slightly depending on what I decide to do with it.

I just need to figure out the root to this cyano or whatever it is that forms on my sand bed dead center of the tank. There isn't alot of flow there, so I'm sure that has a little to do with it.

Oh, those are nice shots!

Are those Bam Bams to the left of the Maxi? So bright, I really like that orange/red glow.

I shall now go back and look are your coral list. :-)

Thank you! And yes, that bright orange patch are the bam bams. They seem to be doing really well. I probably need to update that coral list, not to mention its pretty broad.

Looking good Paul hopefully you find a way to keep the clowns happy yet not ticking off any other corals. We're getting a bta later today hopefully it goes well our last setup I could never get the clowns to host anything other than the hob overflow box lol.

Thanks everyone! Steve, the clowns have been behaving so far. They just kinda host the spot where the green trachy was. Once in a while they make there way over to that red wellso but don't stay long. I really do not want them to host that coral, its one of my favorite LPS's. I have noticed my RBTA getting a little bigger though, so maybe one day they will hook up! LOL

I had to take the green and red blasto out and give it a dip today. I noticed the other day it started to loose some flesh in the center polyp and it looks like it spread a little more today. Not sure of the cause, unless its to much flow in that spot. Hopefully it does well. I moved it over a little and also moved the lobo and make a nice spot for an Acro or something later on. Here is another little photo dump taken from yesterday and today.

Looking awesome sorry to hear about the blasto. Mine lost 2 heads because of to much light had to put then on the sand bed

Well, the largest head of the red and green blasto that I separated from the dying side has since lived and is looking good. Also separated the mini-maxi from the small zoa rock it was attached to (which also has a little brown clam living on it). Moved out in the middle alone because from my previous experience with these zoas (reverse gorilla nipples) they spread quicker than most. I would rather not have that happen. Also moved some rock around on the left side of the tank to make a little room for some SPS frags or something. Here are some photos after messing with it a little today. Besides that all is doing well.

Looks good Paul and the blasto is looking good after the dip. Hopefully it takes off and pops some babies for you. Are the clowns behaving.
