Thanks for the warning. I do have a lot of aptasia. They will be at work for a while. But I'll keep an eye out at night, when I go looking with my Ophek light.

I threw mine in my Fuge for 48hr because my LFS is closed mondays. They were perfectly happy. Thought about just leaving them

Yea I would've done the same, I just can't drive and won't be at my tank are able to get to my lfs for awhile. I really wish I had a qt or something set up, still feeling bad about it.

New tank with a few frags and the peppermints have picked at everything except the alveopora. The acans have receded and the euphillia frag is completely gone. So, in addition to trying to get everything stable on this 2 month old tank I have these predatory shrimp on the hunt for any new additions. Makes it really difficult to troubleshoot chemistry and nutrient issues if there is the added issue of rogue shrimp.

I'll be putting in a trap today. The only local LFS in my area has a few tanks filled with aptasia. I'm betting he will be glad to take these hooligans off my hands.

Yep. They are nasty little B******S. I am sorry to hear about your loses. These guys are bred to eat aptasia but will eat anything that looks similar. I had one that ate all the euphyillia out of a tank and I put a nem in and the anemone ate him[emoji23]. Good luck with trapping.

Camel shrimp like corals and look extremely similar to the peppermint. They say is the camels that like coral.

Honestly, IMO, if the coral was really "perfectly healthy" they wouldn't have messed with it.

I have found both I'd these shrimp to be extremely hit or miss when it comes to pest control.

Yeah, thats the first thing that occurred to me and I did confirm that these are peppermints.

This is very possible and would match up with my overall livestock purchasing experience thus far, which has been abysmal. The frags looked freshly cut on brand new plugs from an online retailer. So, I can't tell how hardy these individual pieces are.
