Im not confusing fire/blood shrimp with Peps,,,those are very obvious differences..
Im talking about slight variances with peps and the VERY close colored /striped imposters that look like Peps,,also not camelback shrimp are not it either..

Huh, that's a new one. Will have to look into that! Learning something new everyday [emoji23]

Those look identical to what I have. Only 1 was picking at my HelioFungia and the other has no interest. Will keep an eye on him. Trap is still set but he is kind of ignoring it. Definitely a lot smarter than the one I caught earlier.

Well that probably answers my question. I put a peppermint in my small tank for a few aptasia that I had. Aptasia gone the next morning. Within several days I had lost a small but healthy Hammer. Hmmm....

Copied pictures from a thread off the net..
at my lfs,,there was 2 shipment of Peps in one tank and it was obvious something was different and a "miss" for say comparing the two different shrimps side by side in one tank..
Got me thinking and did some research on the net just to see this topic being talked about.
Who knows,,maybe both types of shrimp are coral eaters..Need a shrimpologist to intervene

I think my peppermint shrimp killed my new overpriced flower anemone. On the plus side he's not in my display. The downside is he's in my frag tank in my son's room. If he didn't love his "Nu-nu" I'd have fed him to the Lionfish. I'm so mad about it!

Imposter shrimp,,pay very close attention to the stripes and colors of stripes and actual redness of body of shrimp between the lines..

Good call. I have (had) 1 of each in my system. Both are now in the fuge awaiting the LFS opening time

Feeding mine every day (they eat a lot) seems to keep him from destroying any corals. Give him a pellet or two with a clear plastic tube. Mine will steal food from the corals which I'm not exactly pleased with. I'm always surprised by how many people don't feed their animals enough and then wonder why they have issues...

Trust me he was fed enough. I split a mysis cube between the two daily

Agreed 100%. I have a skunk and a peppermint. Both will go hunting throughout the tank, including corals, when they are underfed. I spot feed both of them at least every other day when I feed my fish. Heck, I would steal a burger from you if I was hungry enough!

I was able to get 2/3 shrimp out today!! The 3rd one caught on so ik going to try again tomorrow. The bottle technique worked great! Thanks for the help @Zach klabunde

I sadly flushed them as I had nowhere to put them. Always even if their eating all your expensive coral

That wasn't nice! Even a petco is better than the bowl!

I know I know I hate myself for it, but I have no time due to my crazy schedule and no where to put them. I thought it may be better than leaving them to suffocate or starve in a bucket for a week.

I threw mine in my Fuge for 48hr because my LFS is closed mondays. They were perfectly happy. Thought about just leaving them
