Spawning behavior is mimicking the natural phases of the moon so fish and coral know when to breed. Having it on every night at full power does not do this it needs to change intensities and have new moons(no light) that coordinate with the actual phase of the moon. It’s fairly advanced. I would just have lights off at night especially when establishing a new tank. You don’t need extra light sources giving energy for algae to take hold. Have your lights on to 8-10 hours a day total. Ramp up (2hours)with actinic & moonlights, have whites and everything else on at peak for 6 hours. Turn whites off with just actinic and moonlights for ramp down(2hours), then all lights off.
