Please Help My Tank

Don't look at good things like getting a presents or having perfect parameters.
Look at good things as taking the journey and enjoying all those you meet along the way.
Even shrimp.

Hey guys!!
I bought test kits for phosphates, potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, and iodine. They should be here by the 11th (hopefully sooner)
Thank you for all of your help. I hope we find something that is off so I know what to fix :)

My test kits came in early and here are the results. Do you think low potassium and iron could be causing all this? Other than that, I think all my parameters looked pretty good.

I buy my salt mix from my LFS (I want to buy an rodi unit soon). I am not sure what brand it is

Maybe check the potassium next time you buy some, or if you have any sitting around. In the meantime I would increase the potassium.
Also if you can't raise the lights anymore, you may try putting some window screen over the tank to help shade the corals, even a couple layers overlapping then remove a layer every week or so to let your corals adjust.
Just re read the parameter sheet, is that supposed to be less than 320, or greater than 320 for the potassium. Your comment made me think it was lower than 320..

Hey Ray, a couple of folks recently have had that same green sludge on the bottom of the tank. It appears to be a cyano bacteria. A couple folks used chemi clean to clear it up.

I've been considering use chemi clean but I hate dumping chemicals in my tank but I might do it anyways because the algae looks terrible

The window screen is a good idea. I was also thinking of something I could put directly on the light so it would look better. I did put my inequality backwards. :p

Yea, I'm with you there. It's my last resort.

I keep doing water changes and feeding as little as possible and the algae keeps growing right back. My light schedule is cut back to 8 hours and it isn't helping. I think I might need to try chemiclean.

Is this the right potassium supplement for me to use?

The gunk in the bottom is slimy and gross stuff yes ?

I have some more questions :p
Is there anything I could put under the acrylic splash guard under my light that won't over heat and "melt" but will lessen the amount of light getting to the tank?
Could I use the chemiclean to clean up the algae in my tank?
I had a small aptasia outbreak and I shot all of the aptasia with aptasia x and I thought they were all gone but I just notice that they are back a week after I shot them. What should I do?

Is there anything else I could do to lessen the amount of light getting to the tank?

I don't know what you mean by "slimy" but it does flake off the rock and sand easily

Flakes or blows ? Flakes of is weird

Shoot them again and you want to hit them right in the mouth. Id it doesn't respond you may need to order or get sharp syringes and inject vinegar.

Why do you want less light in the tank?
You can shorten the time it's on.

Something is feeding that stuff. Really need to figure out what that is
