Im dosing around 500ml for Mg, and its not affect. But this weekend i will prepare a fresh solution and hope ir help to increase MG.

i will add the carbon this weekend as you suggested @jsker

Very good, I and I will wait for the next update:)

sometimes Mg is hard to increase I had this with 2 aquariums, on my 2nd tank I used over 2 Kg of balanced buffer and some 1 kg Epson Salts

Typically the Mg will rise slowly, then over shoot only to fall again

on my latest tank I bought 5Kg of balanced buffer and didn't need any, strangely it was dry rock this time and live rock on the two other occasions

If you are not already doing this get the dry powder and mix your own buffer, Mg can be raised puto 50 ppm per day without issues, its important as its a great stabiliser

Hi guys follow the current parameters:

KH: 8
Ca:380
Mg:1250
Po4: 0
No3: 0

I've replaced the Phosphate midia into the reator and i've completed the 2 weeks dosing the Bio S, but i did not find the Carbon but i will buy during the week.

i still have a lot of algae growing (all colors :D), all corals still looking good and with a good PE.

The question now is @Gary Wilkinson @jsker, should i start dose NP + Pro Bio?

Regards

I would not be concerned about the carbon right now with you PO4's and NO3's at Zero. For the future, you will need phosphates of a trace to .03 ppm, and nitrates of 3 to 8 ppm. I run my nitrates at 8 to 12 ppm.

Bump up the Ca to 420 and Mg up about 1000 and that higher Mg will help with the algae.

The algue will burn out, it will take time CUC is a help speeding this up
with the N+P now at ULNS you can start Corals foods Amino Mix Build Energy and Vitality no more than 1/2 dose the corals must learn to feed on these foods, (assuming you have corals ?)
your Mg needs to come up, it is a great stabiliser reducing swings of Alkalinity/Ph use a separate buffer for this no more than 50 ppm/day then raise Ca again with a separate buffer no more than 20 ppm/day ( Ca 440 Mg 1320 is balanced )
don't let Kh go higher than 8 when ULNS

Guys just to summarize:

Is correct that i dose ABVE? if yes, is the dosage below good enough and in a appropriate way? (should i have to keep this bootle in refrigerator, they are not since i openned last year (december))
A + V 2 drops , next day B + E 2 drops

i've dosed for 2 weeks Bio S, should i start the Pro Bio S ?

You are good with the dosing schedule. Yes you can start pro bio s now.

as nutrient are undetectable its sensible to feed corals, the recommended values are for a tank well stocked with corals,
on new systems without many corals the dose should be reduced considerably
even in a well stocked aquarium you would start at half dose whilst the corals adapt in the first week

personally I still only use half the recommended doses ABEV , as I feed my fish heavily, fish waste also feeds corals

yes move to Pro Bio S

@Gary Wilkinson Thanks
All, sorry to be away from this topic, but work is getting me crazy. Something happened during my last topic.

I faced a leak into the basement under the sump area, so i have to turn off the sump move them and put into a temporary room and now i get back to the original place with the leak fixed.

During this process i was monitoring the Skimmer (SRO 5000 SSS) and i saw it was not working properly, when i put the place back into the correct place, i leave it for 1 day and no foam was created. As i also have a BBK 160 mini, i've decided to change the skimmer, after 1 day using the BBK160 it was removed more than SRO in 1 day.

Now i leave the BBK working for now.

Ive tryied to use ABEV but dosing the amino i saw a increase in algae :(. so i'm dosing 5 drops for 1 time a week.

But i'm dosing daily 5 drops of Pro Bio S and 2 Drops of NP PRO, but no effect in algae so far (may be it will get better now with the skimmer) .... should i increase?

my parameters NO3 and PO4 appears 0. But the other ones still out of range

Kh: 6
MG: 1050
Ca: 340

Working now to increase them

Should be

Kh/alk 7.7
Mg 1320
Ca 430
Get the parameters steady and you will be fine.
