Guys,

Follow my parameters for today:

PO4: 0.00 / 0.00
Ca: 400
Mg: 1290
Kh: 6.7
No3: 0
Ph:8.15

glass keeps clean, brown algae not incresing.

Just rephrasing my last post, As far i understood amino acids is a compound base on Nitrogen, so if i dose Amino products, should be better than to dose any KN03?

@jsker @Anirban @Gary Wilkinson

KH is still low, and I would increase the Ca to 420

You can dose amino but I would start with half dose and keep checking. I dont understand why your kH varies so much while you are dosing. Try to keep it steady and increase the level of Ca a bit as suggested by @jsker

Just thinking:rolleyes: KH swings may be do to when he tests? He could be testing a day after he dose KH, or right after, or a couple days after?

My suggestion would be to test consistently before the dose, for the reason that one then know the adsorptions of KH, then test after to check. Also I used to dose once a day, and now I dose multiple times a day to have a more constant KH in my system instead up the ups and downs of a single dose

normally i perform the test at the same time (9PM until 11PM)... but what i saw is my Kh is not constant and i'm debating with the guy that provide me the bailling products. Due based my reports the KH is dropping, so i results that the amount that i'm dosing right now (85ml) is not enough to keep it stable. i step up the dosing pump to dose multiple times a day (guess for KH is 8 times per day)....

so i will start ABVE dosage with half of recomendations on next monday, until there i will keep monitoring my parameters to understand what is happening. next post should be on Sunday.

I think the half dose is if you're dosing every day right? For ABVE? Their newest instructions indicate every other day which would be sorta the same thing right?

You're using AF products? if you can get the products I will give you a list and mix your own. This is what I am doing, less expensive and I can control some of the elements.

@jsker just phosphate minus at this moment, but i have the ABVE products on my hands, NP and Pro Bio S as well (maybe you not remember, but due my parameters, you guy request me to not dosing anything different, also stop WC)

1/2 dose every other day to begin, the system is completely 100% based on observation, so starting lower than to increase based on the appearance of corals, signs of health, night time PE, as some examples of what to look for. Every other day is a recommendation, I have always done Energy and Build together at PM when lights off, and Amino Mix and Vitality on opposite days. This of course has much to do with what is going on in terms of nutrients. For example, if I am at 5ppm on nitrates, I typically do not use Aminos, as the corals are already working on nutrients present, this dose may not be completely used by corals, and the remaining could fuel unwanted nutrients. With Energy, I use now only a few times per week, as my corals get much leftovers from heavy feeding of Larry's Reef Frenzy(probiotics, vitamins). So to me, this would sort of be redundant. Build I use every other day, pretty much automatically, it clarifies the water, helps with ion absorption, and helps to lessen acidity. Vitality, every other day pretty standard, good source of vitamins for corals. Some users like Debora use every day full strengthn on all the dosing, however, these systems are quite nutrient poor and these supplements are needed more frequently with large mature corals. So, there is really no right or wrong, just your tank and your observations, and of course tested nutrient levels too :)

@Perry Thanks for all the information shared. So below is my schedule to start on monday (i just can drop during tank night time, because when the lights go off i'm already sleeping :D).

I also made one correction of my tank volume due the current tanks into the system and my total volume is 500L, so i will start with 2 drops, follow the schedulle Drops will be around 9AM time, my lights get started at 1PM:

12-Dec 13-Dec 14-Dec 15-Dec 16-Dec 17-Dec
Amino Mix-------2--------------2--------------- 2
Build---------------------2----------------2---------------2
Energy-------------------2----------------2---------------2
Vitality ------------------2----------------2---------------2
Np - Not dosing
Pro Bio S - Not dosing

My macro algae into my refugiun is not growing, so seems the bacterias seems to be faster than the algae..

@jsker, please dont forget me :D
@Perry or @Gary Wilkinson can i follow the dosage that i posted? (i will start them tomorrow)

Today as i promised, follow my current parameters:

kh: 7 (its keeps swing, from 6.7 until 7.3, i will try to increase my Kh dosage to try to swing between 7-7.5)
Po4: 0.00 and 0.00
Ca: 400 (equal idea from Kh)
Mg:1320
Ph: 8.15
No3: 0

No way, just busy. Things look good, feed, feed, feed and things will level out. If you have a little bit of algae do not concern yourself, that is a good sign;) as long as the algae in not out of control:)

i made a confusion here and dose wrongly based, yesterday dosed A, E and V. And today B. (just 2 drops of each)

So, should i continue with this dosage (no effects so far noted yet)? or should i follow a different one? @Gary Wilkinson, @Perry, @jsker, @Anirban

i know to not perform too much changes at one time, but in the next weeks, should i try to get back and dose NP and Pro Bio S?

@Flavio Carpi , I would try not to over-think this, the instructions are good, but each tank can vary, dosing amounts too. That said, you are on the right track, begin alternate doses of each and observe. If you are limited for nutrients, it is still advised to continue the use of NP Pro and Pro Bio S, but maybe 1/2 dose. Observation is key in this program, and you can only learn through experience, so experiment a little, and observe the results ;)

+1 @Perry thank you for the responce

@Perry thanks a lot... i will perform, the point is that i'm not dosing NP Pro and Pro Bio S for a long time, just started this week using the ABVE... i will keep you guys posted.

Tomorrow i will perform another round of test, due i've increased 10ml of bailling to try to improve more KH and Ca.

Hi all, yesterday a did a quick round of testing, and follow the parameters:

Kh: 7.3
Ca: 440
Mg: 1260

by today i have to put down my fathers tank (the tank was mine 1 year ago, and now he decided to turn it off), so i have to bring all his corals and place in my tank. So what i think, i will not change in any dosage schedule to see the consumption of this new batch of corals and also adjust the bailling.

Also i took the Ca RX as well, but as seem that i'm doing good with bailling, i've just turn them on just to water goes into it but with the CO2 turned off.

Anything to take a special attention in the following days? @jsker, @Gary Wilkinson, @Perry @Anirban

Things are looking much better with your parameters :) as you stated check your numbers for comsumption with the new corals being added.

@Flavio Carpi, your thinking is correct, when the corals settle down, you will begin to see usage increase, I would test alk daily and make adjustments as to keep the tank as stable as possible. Cheers
