I'm curious what the average age and number of years people have been enjoying this amazing hobby? Is the hobby enjoyed more by the younger people......20yr - 30yrs or us older folk 40yrs on up?

Ive been running SW tanks off and on since 2001 and learn something new each and every day!!

I’m 33. I’ve been in the hobby since 2009. Started with a 55 gallon then moved to a 180 and now 210.

Got my first aquarium (5 gallons of guppies) when I was 7, probably has not been a 6 month period in the 51 years since that I haven't had fish of one kind or another. First SW tank back in the late 80s, alternated back and forth between reef tanks and planted FW thereafter. Sold all of my reef stuff back in 2012 due to a move, just dived back in late last year. Currently running a JBJ 45 and Reefer 450 reef tanks, in the process of setting up a Reefer 250 also, having conclusively decided that the herbie drains in the Reefers are a pain in the a** with planted FW

I''m 57 . I rusted out the floor pans in my VW hauling 5 gl buckets of saltwater back from the beach.. I was 16/17 then . That went by FAST

I have a RSR250. What a great setup. I also got started back in the 80's with my dad who introduced me to this great hobby.
