Well, now that it is after 4pm swepco has no information on restoration. Ugh! And just my luck. Picked up generator and won't start

Yay, got the generator running. Now the main pumps on all 3 tanks are going along with fridge and deep freezer, fans and working on tv for grandson. Hope power gets on soon. This is not fun.

Glad to hear it. I lost 90% of my fish last week to a 17 1/2 hour power outage. I include the 1/2 because I lost 50% of them in the last 30 mins before the power turned on :( I have the icecap backup, it only lasted 3 hours. What a waste of money.

So sorry for your loss. That is why I would not leave the tanks and still did manual stirring the water cause I was afraid they wouldn't get enough o2. Didn't want my pods and biofiltration to die off. Still no power, going on 19hrs. Have had enough. Ugh.

Ok, still going strong with no power. Just ran out of gas in the generator so husband and son making a gas run. 81 degrees and 100% humidity in house. Ugh, no sleep.

Ah, I feel for you. Stay strong. It’s worth it.

Well, now I want to cry. The generator has died and keeps dieing. Too dark to try and work on it. Hopefully when it gets light can figure it out. So hot in house we made a bed in back of truck. Bugs suck.

Getting worried. Heat advisory for today and no power. Generator has quit, husband still trying to figure it out. My tanks and tile floors are already dripping wet. 78 degrees before sunup

Well I’m still jealous of your weather but not your power grid....... although Cleveland named a beer after our ability to crash the power for a quarter of the country!

Curious to know how's things going? Is the power backup? Have you lost anything?

Don't be jealous. There's a heat advisory for today.

Still no power. Hering it will be possibly the 23rd at least before they restore it. Nothing I have seen is lost. In my 55gal hypo at tank my redline wrasse has not come out. I do have some sand for him in there. But the ammonia badge is still good so assuming he's just freaked out with me doing all the scooping and pouring. Going to pick up another generator but really don't know of we have enough money for gas to run one for 3 days. Ugh. Might have to take out all the cheato and put in a bucket in the sun for the day. Maybe it will hang in there? Possibly try cycling the generator 1 hr on 1 hr off?

I still need too. Had to borrow the generators. Except for my car one.

I am happy for you. We have a large generator. Remember to run them and do regular maintenance on them. We also have solar panels covering our garage. If you have to order most things for your tanks consider backups of all the really important equipment you use.

Happy reefing!

I did not see the part about the gen stopping until just now. That happened to me when I was running mine for 7 days during the aftermath of hurricane Irma. Took me a while to figure out it was just low on oil. A lot of gens will shut off if oil gets too low to protect the motor.

We checked the oil. For some reason it was choking itself kinda like a kill switch. Didn't figure it out. Took it back and explained what it was doing to brother in law. He rebuilds small motors so hopefully he figures it out.
