Yes, all 7 are the blue ones. I basically have them all around the MH pendants.

They make finding a tiny lost chalice frag VERY easy LOL

i use 3 of the all blue bars. one powered w/ two slaves. they are 24" above the water and 7" out from the sides aimed in at 30*. i only use them when i want to be wow'd and for pics, as i was warned that they may be too intense for the lps i am keeping to use regularly.

Benny are you lights always 24" from the surface? Looks like a 12" deep tank as well. Reason I ask, is my frag tank is also 12" deep. I only have a 4 bulb 24 watt light over it but with the IceCap 660 overdriving them. Maybe I should raise mine??

Would they be intense enough to grow/sustain "low light" coral, such as duncans or favias on their own IYO/IYE?

imo, yes, i have no doubt that they could sustain corals on their own.

reeferrob - the frag tank is actually just 8" deep. yes, i keep the lights up 24" off the surface all the time. i actually only use 4 of the t5 bulbs regularly, not overdriven. i just turn on the extra two and powerbrites for pics.

Peter, what fish is in the picture you posted above?

Does the all blue LEDs wash out the colors in them? It sure as heck doesn't in the coral...

I'm considering using them (alone) on a NPS reef.

Only certain corals glow in the LEDs. Fish, not at all. Those are a couple anthias in the pic.

I wanted to setup a test with powerbrites. I've got 6 50/50's and 3 all blues. I wanted to setup a fragtank and put these over and see what would grow under them. Just haven't had time/space/money.

i would imagine that if you threw in one or two of the 50/50 white/blue bars, that you'd have plenty of white to get the colors in the fish.

Stun... You could just add one Fiji purple and then use the power brites. The figi purple really makes my fish color POP

OK after looking at these pics with just the PB. I am going to dig mines out of the ole surplus closet and play around with them again.

Ahhh, that's disappointing, maybe a 50/50 would bring them out...

My thoughts exactly :nerd:

Agreed, but... there won't be any fixtures involved. I had a plan to use LED spotlights, but I really like what these things do and it would be a super, super clean install.

We shall see...

Six months ago I decided to try The powerbrights as my only light source in my JBJ 12 gallon Nano cube . I have one of the original nano cubes that came with one 24 wattPC 50/50 combo bulb and I ran that for years . Then I switched to the powerbright bars , there are three of them used for lighting. One all white ( 10k ) an two are 50/50 . So far it has worked out well and I can even keep two maxima clams in the tank . Below are photos , the clams have been in there for about 3 months . I can't get an accurate picture of the lights because there to bright . The middle bar is all 10k white and the front and back are the white actinic combo . Sorry about the quality of the pictures but all I have right now is my cell phone camara .

i love my leds.. went from running vho actinics to powerbrites all actinics and love the difference... sps/lps seem to like them also...

So far so good , but only time will tell if they can be used as the only lighting in a nano cube . They would never work on a larger tank , I'm sure of that . But for some more color pop on corals , yeah I could see that .
