I was told on a local forun the stunners are worth getting. I ordered it and will post pics. I have a canon tti what setting is best to shoot under led?

Where can i order powerbrights form?

wwc uses them w/ radiums and t5. though i believe they have something on the order of 21 bars in their canopy! :D

based on what i see from them, i'm positive they would make a significant difference even w/ just 3 on a smaller display.

Anyone use powerbrights with a MH? Do they make a difference?

I run 7 bars on my 150g with 2 x 250W 14K phoenix on icecaps. Honeslty, the difference is minor, IMO. Lots of blue shadows though

I frankly only use them for dusk/dawn, not supplementation.

I grabbed a few of the stunners not to long ago to mess around with.
I had about 9 powerbrites but could never manage to mount them because I dont have a canopy on my 4 ft 150, and couldn't get them high enough to stop the whole spot lighting issue. I grabbed 3 of the blue stunners though, mounted them to an aluminum bar and just set them above the tank....ended up replacing my 2-54w t5s with just the 3. May get 2 more for the back side of the tank. Colors are just like the powerbrites, but the spread is 10x better with greater # of LEDs and no lenses and bs.

Ill attempt some picture for everyone

Benny any close ups of how you mounted them.....I think they come in as flat mounts.......how did you angle yours?

Thanks,

Grant

not on hand, but i will snap some for you when i go to lunch in a couple of hours or so. i will warn you - my outfit looks pretty ghetto as it is over my frag tank in my fish room and i wasn't concerned about asthetics. :D they are very easy to mount, though, with just one clip each. i just used a 30* little block of wood to angle them.

I hung all of mine with giant zip tie loops, so they are not bolted down. This allows them to be angled... it's like rock concert lighting for my corals ;)

agreed - mine looks like stage lighting, too.

or a space ship! lol (just for fun...)

that is officially way to much time on your hands...haha gotta love it though

24x24x8

the lights are 24" above the water. and i usually just use 4 of the t5 bulbs, not all 6. i just turn on all 6 for enhanced viewing and pics. same w/ the powerbrites. even w/ them up that high there is still about a 2-3" border around the perimeter of the tank that does not get led coverage from the powerbrites. i think i have a pic that emphasises this somewhere...hang on...

yep - here it is:

(old pic - man the tank is way more crowded now!)

here you go, grant. as i said, it is a big ghetto. :) i guess there are 2 clips per bar, not 1 as i said before. plus here you can see that i had to extend the connecting wires, as out of the box they are only about 6" long.

Mine is supposed to be here this afternoon. Powerbrites that is, so I will try to rig up some sort of mounting for them and get some pics

Just plugged in the powerbrites and waved them over the tank with the hand.........

I love my corals even more now!!!!

I will see if the GF will hold them so I can get a coupleshots!!
