The word motor is pretty clear .
How is the motor or impeller "consumable"? I've sent jebao an email and now I'll wait to see if I get a response, seems a little like a conflict of interest?
I've had over 6 WP-15s die from 6-18 months and out of the three WP-20s I have, one died at six months and of the other two one is a back up and the other is chugging away at about a year old. You get what you pay for. A $100 power head that moves massive water is not going to last seven years like a Tunze. After burning through around $800 in powerheads in less than two years I upgraded to higher quality pumps.
Has to be a short or water damage, never any damage to impeller or shaft. Controller and power supply always works on new unit. Never cared enough for a $40 part to take it apart and figure out why the electromagnet inside stopped working.May I question in what way they stopped working for you? Specifically, what failed? Controller malfunction/ failure? Power supply failure? Impeller shaft breakage? Impeller bushings fractured? Impeller bushings seized to impeller shaft? Impeller blades fractured/broken off. Power cord separation from motor housing/ water intrusion/electrical short?
I'm sorry for all the questions, but when people say the word "die" or "died" with nothing else to go with it, everyone involved in conversation would benefit from expanding on why it "died". I fully understand in certain instances there isn't a clear answer, but with powerheads, there is usually a failure point one can point to.

this information is not fake. I have gotten this information straight from the source. all the models need replacement after 3 mts to one year. the coral box is not any better.
