I'm assuming each of the outlets on the manifold has a different purpose and different flow requirements.
I would run the pump full open and control each outlet as needed.

Sorry to dredge up such an old thread...
I just bought a used M1 today for dirt cheap, but it is missing the blue collar on top. I can't seem to find anywhere to get the Spears part without a silly shipping cost on top of it. I'm realllllly not looking forward to paying $10 for the silly adapters. Did anyone determine if the electrical adapter works or find these somewhere more readily available?
This pump is WAY overpowered for my 50g tank. I'm going to run it pretty low and I unfortunately need to convert it down to 1/2". Once I get it down to SCH40, I'm sure I can find enough bushings to drop it down.
