How do you like it? Is it as quiet as they say

I started with the Vectra L1 to replace a Reeflo Dart/Snapper Hybrid pump. The Reeflo pump wasn't bad, especially for 3600 gph, but it made a whirring/hum noise that I never really got use to. So when the Vectras came out and I saw they were getting good reviews I found a guy who was selling a L1 and the fittings at a good discount I grabbed it.
Once I had it installed, it was everything it was advertised to be. So quiet you have to get very close to hear anything.
It was then, that I noticed my Eheim 1262 made some noise. Not much, as Eheims are a very quiet brand. But still I could hear it.
So I picked up a Vectra M1 and replaced the Eheim.
Just as quiet as the L1.
You really have to get up close to tell it is on.

Now my biggest noise is water noise ( I do have the M1 dialed up to about 3/4 capacity) and a little from the Bubble Blaster 5000 skimmer pump. ( I'm thinking about replacing that pump with the DC version, but not right away).

So all in all, it was expensive, but well worth it.

I also called up spears and the do have the fitting and list price is $1.75 each
make sure it's the correct fitting. The guy I spoke to at flexpvc said that there were 2 different types of BST patterns. A tapered fitting and a straight pattern, I believe the correct one is the straight thread pattern.
If you get it, it has to screw all the way down to the pump. All of the threads have to be used. The one I got from flexpvc would go on but only for 2-3 threads.
Good luck

I found 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 inch female adapters at the big box home improvement store with the orange logo. They are actually in the electrical department, grey in color but still pvc. I am using it on my Deepwater pump, and it screws all the way down to the very last thread.

The fittings were at the depot, no name on them because they are standard electrical fittings that just so hapen to be BSP also

yeah, but are the threads on your pump the same as the threads on the Vectra?
They are still an American fitting.
All the fittings look the same, they just have different thread patterns.

Hey found the piece for the 1 1/4 inch for 1.75 the only company that makes it is spears and you would be able to get it through ferguson plumbing or anyone that can get spears parts
