QT Fail

Is there any chance you can also pick up another tank? I know space is limited for a lot of us, but even a freshwater dip and using that ro water you have(+/- any you can get) would be an instant waterchange. It would also provide immediate relief as there wouldn't be as much parasites moving over

Praying for you bro. I'm dealing with velvet myself. Scary stuff

I can’t get another tank but I could do a freshwater dip and a separate container, depending on how long I need to get them in it and out of it

Not gonna lie, I feel a little overwhelmed I will get through it and hopefully the fish will too.
I was in your same shoes just the other day. I did ttm/hypo because I had flukes and thought I was dealing with ich. Within a couple days they went from looking great to looking pretty rough. I, too, was overwhelmed but, thanks to the awesome people who lurk the disease forums, I got some tremendous advice and was able to start treating

Honestly, that hippo has ich and velvet. You’re in good hands, get to therapeutic copper quickly. Good luck!

I have Cupramine and a test kit. I’m going to change 40g of water this afternoon, dose with some good bacteria and then As long as the consensus is to treat with cupramine, begin, treating tonight.

Prime was dosed yesterday, I think its maybe still active in the water. Prime makes Copper toxic.
@4FordFamily @Humblefish
When can copper be safely added after a dose of Prime is in the tank?
48 hours prime is mostly gone. I’d do a water change to be certain. Dose dr tims or biospira for bacteria, instead of prime. The need for prime indicates an issue that should be (at least partially) solved with either of those two bacteria products, IMO.

Cupramine is fine. Which test kit?

He already dosed prime either last night or this morning

Humblefish has found that in bad cases of velvet, if you follow the freshwater dip, immediately with a bath in an acriflavine product like Acriflavine MS or Ruby Reef Rally the survival rates greatly increased.

So the Cupramine looks like I'm supposed to dose 20 drops/10.5 gallons. My tank is 75 gallons, so that would mean I'd need to do 142.8 drops or about 7.14 ML, the first day...then I wait 48 hours and do it the same thing. Always testing prior to make sure that copper concentration is 0.5mg/l daily....please let me know if my math is right, but I do believe it is. Poor blue hippo is constantly resting right now...I'm not sure he's going to survive the night :(
