Quanta Atlas and Helix

Not sure if you mentioned it, but were you part of a pre-release test group? Were the lights given to you, provided at a discount, or did you pay full price? Trying to understand all the players and connections.
I was part of the first ones shipped, I paid full price, no favors.

So basically you are asking for "sponsored by" tags under names here. Probably not a bad idea. The FTC requires this on social media content creators which is why you see a lot of it now on YouTube. Sponsored by...
Not necessarily. I think if someone has a relationship with a vendor or gets product from them for free/discounted then they should disclose that when reviewing or recommending it. If not, then the question should be asked if it seems it needs to be. As in this case of someone having and reviewing the product before release.

I am sponsored by no one, just an average reefer. There are products that I like, Quanta being one of them.

Same thing I said. I'm just making it more obvious as a tag be it sponsor, tester, or paid staff. Hence my comment about social media content and how they say paid by, sponsored by, etc.

Not nit picking as we more or less agree - probably just different opinions on how to get there.

There is a 4 bar bundle you just have to type "4" in search bar . I have a 30 inch long tank and im hoping the 3 bundle of the 23" will be enough in length to cover the 30" . Its an aio so its only 18" of actual tank width so i think it will be fine that way. Im actually thinking of the white plus version because i feel like 2 mesos might just be wayy too blue . Its hard to decide without seeing it in person knowing theres no way to adjust spectrum. I know the 4 bulb (2 meso 2 reefcrest) is designed to look like ab spectrum which i always liked with the radion bit i feel like the 4 helix might be overkill for me. Im currently only running 88 watts so the 3 has enough power .So for me its deciding on spectrum and being sure i have the length covered

Right now I'm running two Meso Blue with two T5's. The T5's are Reef Brite actinic and 50/50. At some point in the future I'll probably replace the T5's with a single Reef Crest.

Tank is an AIO mixed reef, display dimensions 24" x 18".

For this new Helix, it looks like the Reef Crest spectrum is different than the Quanta Pro - Reef Crest Spectrum?

The Quanta Pro Reef Crest is AB+ spectrum, while it takes both the Helix Meso Blue and Reef Crest together to make AB+ spectrum.

I did notice that as well. Looks like he pivoted the reef crest to eliminate the tropic sun.

Yes, the Helix version leans towards the tropic sun more, which I think compliments the Meso blue (Helix) to create a nice even spectrum. As a halide user, I really appreciate this and wish others would provide a fuller spectrum.

I just received my Atlas today, man this thing throws some serious light. I mapped my tank with my current lights, so I’ll make the switch soon and post some data. I took a couple screenshots with my current lights, then a quick snapshot of the Atlas and there’s only a few spots where I notice a difference (mainly UV, more being produced from the halides, but the Atlas is thicker in some areas), which is a nice surprise. Stayed tuned……

I kinda had some fun with my reflector.

I know its still early but anybody get their helix yet?

Following. Im so close to pulling trigger on 2 atlas and 2 helix for a 180g. I just wanna see some more data on them. But this light is exactly what i like. I like the more white color. If i could afford the energy of t5 mh 8 would run them . This light might do the job with led efficancy. Migjt use the same wattage but its a much cleaner use than t5 mh.

Nothing this week still ,the anticipation is real lol. It did look like luca tested the 3 bar bundle against the helix but no results were really posted

I just pulled the trigger on a Quanta Atlas. I'll be lighting an RS170. I know it might seem like overkill but I'm moving from a Kessil a360x and AI Blade combo to this. I'm driving the Kessil at 75% and 50% color and the Blade at 35%. I'm hoping one of these at 35% at 150w will do nicely. All of the spectrum and par data I've seen suggests it should be a nice setup.
