External powered LED driver do have min/max driving voltage along with current requirement. Driving voltage depends on total number of LEDs you are planning to hook up in series, based on forward voltage specification provided by manuf/supplier. Your power supply unit must be at least 2 - 3 volt higher than total Vf as per your design.

Holy cow so I'm very impressed with the color coming from the fixture. I have hear wired together off one power cord right now so all lights come on when plugged in. Will prob leave it that way for ease of cord control. First pic is all blue second all white third 50/50 mix. Last 2 pics are light all low, and all high. So bright the camera was having trouble focusing. This is all minus the moon lights.

Here are the moon lights. Not sure if I really like them. Too bright I feel. My 190 has what looks like 400-410nm leds for moon lights. I may try and replace these with violets in that range.

Ok so I got the hood gutted and and leds in! Looks great. Actually very easy install.

Very nice. I bought my cube used and the previous owner used RapidLeds, which are great, by the way. Love how you thought to wire a third channel with the moonlights, wish he would have done that.

I apologize for hijacking your thread, but I wanted to thank you. You inspired me to order the RapidLED moonlight kit and retro the retrofit. All wired and working, just have to install it tomorrow.

I am very glad I could help push into the diy world. I absolutely love building things myself. It give such a sense of accomplishment. Plus now I can Soucy and give it the look I want. As soon as I can find a par meter I'm going to get some readings. Have fun with it!!!!

Yes total change in looks and after about 30 min of lights being on ALL the coral is it and seems to be extremely happy.

Right now I'm using the dimmers inside the controllers but I'm building a small controller center I'm going to be putting on the side of the stand.

I am only using one LED for my moonlight, did you consider that?

Took some pics with my cell phone today. No photo shop these are how the tank looks under the new lights after a few days. Coral is loving it and this clown has to be front and center!
