Red Sea Reefer and Klir Filter

I don't think so, but honestly, I do not have access to a dual sock system. If others would like to take detailed measurements and pictures, I can try and put something together.

It's not so much about the size of the hole, but rather the ability to block the water in the drainage section to reach the 1.5" needed to trigger the roller.

Just got mine running on my reefer 250. I added a piece of glass 2” X 16 7/16” to create a dam to raise the water level on top of the sock tray for the sensor to work. I siliconed it in since it is above the water line in the sump. I let that cure over night. I then took a rotary sander on a drill and enlarged the top hole in the sock holder to accept the smallest adapter that Klir furnished. The whole job was very easy. I love it so far.

Would a flat (no dam) adapter be useful for those creating their own dam?

This would still sit on top of the existing shelf and negate the need to cut the stock drawer.

Will this work on dual-sock sumps like the one on my Reefer 525?

I just spoke to the manufacturer Rep at reefapallooza in California. He said the Red Sea sumps are inconsistent in their specs so a 3D printer adapter may not fit all the sumps equally. Anyone know if this is true?

My drain area is 117mm wide. It's easy to measure and should be relatively simple to adjust the 3D model.

A couple of small changes to reduce the amount of material needed to print this adapter. I hollowed the base and the side walls while leaving enough material along the perimeters to maintain the structure.

The other change is to add a "potbelly" to the front of the adapter. This is on the back of facebook comments CoralVue has made that the optical trigger sensor needed to face the opposite direction of the flow. The potbelly makes room for the sensor on the front side.

It's on the printer now. I'll update the thingiverse page after I get a chance to test it.

As I understand it, there are slight variances in the way Red Sea sumps are made. This is one of the reasons Coralview has not released an adapter yet. If you are willing to take accurate measurements of you drain area, I'll see what I can put together. But you will have to use a printing service in your area to get it frabricated. Look up 3dhubs or shapways for local printers. PLA is ok for testing, but I would use PETG or ABS for a final product that will have long term exposure to saltwater.

I would love it if you could make one without the left dam and one without the right. Im new to all this 3d printing but I bought one and am going to try and make one for my 525xl. Planning on either just barely having a big enough printer to make it as one or 2 pieces and gluing with super glue. I am trying to teach my self how to reverse engineer your design in fusion but haven't had much time to play with it. I have 2 klirs i want to use.

So trying to get measurements for you. See attached photos of the sock holder and sump.

So this is the sock holder and what it looks like in sump.

It is 23 mm long by

10.75 wide
Then the inserts are standard Red Sea diameter

That looks great! Wish I knew how to design for a 3D printer. I could use the piece directly over the socks- not that extra side piece - for my tank if it is for 4” socks.
