Looks great! Is it printed in 2 pieces or do you have a giant print bed? :)

That looks great! Wish I knew how to design for a 3D printer. I could use the piece directly over the socks- not that extra side piece - for my tank if it is for 4” socks. :(
What tank you have???

Its unfortunately 3 pieces. The adapter is 1 piece at 230mm, I need it to go to 235 but am working around it. Thus had to make the wall out of 2 pieces as well , about 25mm short. Total length is 486mm I think.

Have you tried using a 3D doodle pen to "weld" the parts together? I've also seen people use a short length of filament in a Dremel to friction weld parts together. If printing in ABS, acetone slurry would work as well.
Either way, awesome work!

Im new to this whole 3d printing thing. I was just going to super glue the 2 parts of the wall together but may look at your methods. The adapter plate i want to keep separate. Printing them out of pteg. I used pls for prototypes.

Thinking about giving up on letting Klir advance itself. If I drop the optical sensor in the sump and control the power via APEX, hoping I can program it to advance when I want to clean the tank avoiding the need to modify or adapt my sump ??? .....

A couple of small changes to reduce the amount of material needed to print this adapter. I hollowed the base and the side walls while leaving enough material along the perimeters to maintain the structure.

The other change is to add a "potbelly" to the front of the adapter. This is on the back of facebook comments CoralVue has made that the optical trigger sensor needed to face the opposite direction of the flow. The potbelly makes room for the sensor on the front side.

It's on the printer now. I'll update the thingiverse page after I get a chance to test it.

Do you happen to have the fusion 360 file available?? Im new to all this and cant seem to figure out how you bowed the potbelly out??
Have lots of time off in the next 3 weeks so should have my dual klir on my reefer 525 up and running soon.

I don't think so, but honestly, I do not have access to a dual sock system. If others would like to take detailed measurements and pictures, I can try and put something together.
Hi- i know this is an old thread, but did you ever have the opportunity to see if this would work on the reefer xl 525 double filter sock sump? I’m seriously considering this tank build and I would love to use a Klir in it. Thanks!

So what do I need to do? And do you need to run 2 or can you cover one hole and run 1?
You need to make an adapter. You could run 1 depending on your pump. Each one is good for 700gph, I'm running more then that. Less then 700gph and you're only turning over tank 4.5x an hour.

Thanks very much! Very helpful.
Could you help me with the adapter? How do i make it?

You can make one out of acrylic or design one and 3d print it like I did.

I'm honestly amazed that you guys have taken the initiative to make this product work for a critical audience (reefer owners) that the manufacturer failed to acknowledge. Well done.

In the case of dual filter sock like on the 525 one. Is it possible to use only one klir filter and close the other filter sock hole?

Depends on your return pump and how much flow you want. The klir-4 is rated for 750gph, that's not high enough for me on a 140gallon tank. If you are ok with that flow then yes you could get away with one.

This is not possible at all for me but i was just wondering in fact because they purpose it for their sump on the website.

So is anyone making these adapters for sale? I have a 525 XL and a Klir filter I was using on my old set up so would love to still be able to use the Klir filter.

I have the Red Sea Reefer 350 with the V3 sump, which measurements would you need to create a 3D design for it?
