Red Sea Salt Mix

Just ordered 2 buckets, and a screen popped up and said, "ANOTHER ORDER TO MIDDLE TN?!" lol :xd:

I oreder my salt at 9:30PM on Thursday night, and they were on my front porch by 1pm today.

Should be doing the testing here soon. What numbers you guys want to see cal, alk and mag ?

I'm hoping they compare to what they say on the bucket. But I think most folks have gotten a little less Cal and a little more Alk than what is advertised. I also think that depending on what kind of test kits that are used we will all get a little different results. But as long as they are pretty close I'm cool with that.

You guys that order the Red Sea coral pro, where do you order it from and what does it end up costing. You can reply via pm if you so desire. I've been thinking about switching.

Sorry for the delay. I received my bucket of salt the very next day, but just now got around to mixing it.

Red Sea Salt:

note: I calibrated my refractometer (using 35ppt liquid) prior to testing to 35ppt, then tested mix, then checked calibration and the reading was 36ppt, so I recalibrated, remeasured, then checked calibration again and it was 34ppt. Obviously amateur equipment is not super accurate. I recalibrated to 35 and tested a final time, making adjustments as needed.

I use Red Sea Pro test kits.

SG 35
Alk 7.8
Calc 380

This is lower than spec, but spec required 35.5 ppt and I am assuming my refractometer reads a tad high because I want it too.

I mix with a big ole paint stick and it mixed fast and easy and was crystal clear in 5 minutes. Much faster then Reef Crystals.

Seems pretty close to what I measured when I tested last time. Thanks for the update Markalot.

Just got my new bucket of red sea from pet solution im gonna test it when I get back from out of town
