Reef Radiance led light..OMG..What a light....

I have done a lot of reading on this forum of LEDs burning out corals, and making sure the intensity is correct. Does anyone have any experience with the 240 pros? Anyone running a program and having success? Care to share the program? Thanks!

FedEx now says Wednesday for my 240 delivery....Yay!

+1...I would also like to see what some others are running.

OK, a while back I saved a Excel spreadsheet/program that someone created (Ben Nichols on RC...Thank You!) to calculate intensity settings for another light. He used the SIN curve which the sun roughly follows. Originally the program did one hour intervals and 30 minute intervals over a 12 hour period. I used his work to add further options. I tweaked it to calculate 30 minute and 10 minute intervals over 12 hour, 10 hour, and 8 hour light cycles. The 10 hour and 8 hour cycles take the SIN curve of a 12 hour cycle and condenses it into the 10 or 8 hour timeframe.

To use it:

1. Download the this Excel document(Rt click save then open in Excel): https://www.dropbox.com/s/t8spfthlab7suzj/Lumentek Intensity Program.xlsx
2. Select the desired interval and timeframe from the sheets at the bottom
3. Enter your desired start time (the program starts at 0 so the lights will come on either 10 or 30 minutes after your entered start time ex. if you want your lights to come on at 10:00am enter 9:50am or 9:30am as your start time)
4. Enter your desired maximum intensity for Blues and White/Color
5. The fields and chart should automatically update showing the proper intensity settings

Wow! Thanks for that. I am going to use this to fine tune my program tonight!

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing, Ellis!

Lux, I would try again. I used the "Direct Download" option and the file opens up perfectly in Excel (2013).

I found one through reefbreeders that might be similar. Does it have a spot to put in your max white and max blues, then calculates based off of a 12 hr photo period? The only problem I have is knowing what is the best ratio for the corals of whites to blues, not just what looks best to me.

EllisJuan - thank you for the link .. I figured out how to get it to open correctly. It is the same as what I was looking at before. So now just to figure out the best max intensity still and ratio of whites-blues. Any thoughts?

I don't have my light yet so I can't really comment on the look. I can say I do not plan on starting either the whites or blues over 50% to let everything acclimate. Also, did you look at the different sheets at the bottom? There are other options other than a 12hr light cycle now.

I did see that . Thank you EllisJuan. That is a huge help. I just need to figure out the proper ratio for coral growth of blues to white

got my 240s yesterday and my fuge light today cant wait to set up the tank now got a few more odd and in things to do then il be up and running

Well I have officially had my new 240 pro running for a day now. I love the programmability, and the light looks great! I also received my fuge light today! Thank you Rick for the wonderful products. I have been running it at 50% max at mid day and ramping up and down through morning and evening, thanks to the help of EllisJuan's spreadsheet he provided. I hope to figure out the best ratio of blues to whites for coral growth.

Awesome man. I can't wait to get mine running. FedEx now says Thursday for delivery...ugh What size tank do you have it over again? Have you posted any pictures? Lets see it!

it is on a standard aga 75 gal . Right now it is just sitting on top of a make shift canopy with a large enough hole cut out of the top. It is all pretty thrown together at this point until I build the new canopy for the light.

I don't have a very good camera on my phone, but here is a pic with the lights on at I believe it was 40% earlier today.
