Looks like I found the place to get the lighting for my tank. Just a quick question for Rick or anyone else who wants to answer. I just moved so I sold all of my equipment and just got settled. I have been reefing for almost 15 years now, so I decided to start small, mainly so the new wife (getting married on the 18th of this month) won't have a fit about the cost of the hobby. I picked up a 16 gallon tank and want to run LED lights. What light would you suggest? The dimensions of the tank are approx. 13"x24"x12"

I am trying to get all of the equipment for the tank before I get the rock, livestock, etc., and your lights seem to be just what I am looking for.

first of all, congrats on the wedding and welcome to R2R, as you may already know, Rick is a cool guy to chat with, he'll be more help than me but you should start with checking out the DM132e, awesome little light, inexpensive and very powerful, but if you're more interested in full automation with the realistic sunrise/sunset effect, you might check out the Lumentek Pro lights Rick sells, very cool looking lights but they do cost a bit more that the DM132e...Rick can tell you more about the specific features and what he would recommend

Thank you both. I did check out his site last night and that is why I decided to go with his lights. The fact that they seem to be great lights, along with great customer service were all I needed to know to decide to give him my business. I have wanted to go with LED for a while now, but haven't made the jump. I have been using MH lighting and now I can not justify the cost of those lights over LED lighting, especially after seeing the reviews of others with them and the fact that the run cooler, cheaper, and last a lot longer.

If you look under the testimonials on ricks page you will see a video and my write up on his lights, i do have another video which i think is a bit better. I use the lumentek 120's on my 75 gallon. If you want a cheaper light as Redtop03 stated, the DM-132e would be a great fixture for you!
 
I ordered mine 3 weeks ago today and broke down and emailed them last night about a delivery date. They got their shipment yesterday. Mine will be going out Monday. Patience is not a quality of mine but from all the reviews it will be well worth it.They are super quick to respond to emails. Thanks Reef Radiance :]

Hi BraddB,

Firstly congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Be good to her and she will let you buy stuff over the years.....(-: - Every day I talk and email hobbyists (men) who are ready to buy but need to " talk to the boss " or " get permission " and as a married man myself - I recognize the wisdom of this. We always have low pricing compared to anyone else - so you are - I believe - in the right place to find something that will fit your budget and keep your soon-to-be wife happy. For your tank - the best value would - like Redtop03 suggested the DM-132e as it will provide the power and appropriate spectrum to grow anything in your tank. If you want to step up to CREE lighting - we just introduced the CREE Nano Pro for nano tanks - it is a few bucks more, so pick either as befitting your budget and you will be fine.

I love my 155e's, and Rick was great to work with before, during and after the sale! Fun guy to rap with too and his love for the hobby shines through.

Thank you very much Rick, I do appreciate that. It might be a little while before I am able to buy a light, all our money is tied up in the upcoming wedding. I am not complaining though. She really likes saltwater tanks and is on board with me being in the hobby. I am hoping that some of the wedding gifts will be cash so that I am able to get what I still need. I bought a skimmer for my small tank, but it still hasn't arrived due to it being on back order. I also still have to get sand, rock, and a heater but like I said, with things being tight right now it will take a little while. You will be getting some business from me though. After reading all of the testimonials and the information on your site I can say that I am not afraid to do any future business with you at all. I just hope I don't have to wait too long... I am like a kid at Christmas when it comes to this hobby... no patience when it comes to setting up a tank.

Reef Radiance LED Light replacement for 250 MH?

Would the dm155E be the right choice for a 54 corner round tank? I currently have a 250mh with 14k Phoenix bulb. Tank is a mix of sps, lps, and a few lower light chalice and acans hiding in the corners. Im looking for a light that will work well for my acans, chalice and zoa's but not impede growth for my sps. Thanks Bruce.

I have 4 x155's over my 8 foot 240 with acans,z/p,lps,sps. I believe it's great and wouldn't try anything else. My lps and softies love it. My Sps love it too.
 
Just ordered the "new" Lumentek Pro 180 a couple days ago. Based on all these positive reviews I'm sure I'll be more than pleased with their product, can't wait to receive it. :-)
