Hey everyone, so been back in the hobby for some time now and been spending sometime on Reef2Reef. I thought ide make a thread and show my past and current builds. So here it goes! :bounce:
First off started with a 20 gallon that was running for about a year and a half maybe a little more. Started with odyssea quad T5s , then upgraded to Reef radiance Dm-155e leds. Running two koralia 425s and a cpr bakpak with a modded refugium with cheato. This where it stood on its last days.
Next i moved on to my 40gallon breeder, which i handmade the stand for, and was able to reuse the Dm-155e .Added a aquaclear 70 with the cpr bakpak, and filtration was good for the 40 gallon. This lasted about 7 months, before an unexpected upgrade come along. Some shots of the 40.
Finally, to our newest and current build the 57 gallon rimless. So this is a neighbors tank, that recently hes been going through hardship at home and had let this beautiful tank crash. As he knew i was into the hobby he offered me to go pick it up at an awsome deal. It was a deal i just couldnt pass. It was so good i felt bad to take it off his hands for his price. I offered to help him bring it back to life , but he kept insisting for me to take it and that he just did not want it anymore. So the deal was made and welcome to our new build. So far its been an amazing experience, as ive never had an aquarium with an in stand sump/ refugium, never owned a tank drilled or with a overflow . We got it all cleaned up, we were able to make the stand from the 40 gallon work, and with the purchase of a couple bulk heads, tubing , new sand , etc we got this baby up and running. Its been running now for about a month, and just recently transferred over all the live stock from the 40. So here it goes:
The tank came with Orphek Pr156 Leds, 30gallon sump, some koralia pumps that havent installed yet, coral life UV sterilizer, Eshopps psk100 protein skimmer, media reactor, a few really stressed corals, and the list goes on lol, so far loving it ! Never ran or seen some Orphek lighting , but wow! love them, buying orpheks from now on for future tanks.
Stay posted for new updates, as its time to fill it up with corals!
Pictures arent the best they are done with my phone, but hope you guys enjoyed them.
