I was talking about the Orphek lighting. Do you still have it lighting your tank? Which of the 2 do you see more color and growth with the Orphek or the Dm 165p?

I had the DM-155e and yes I am currently using the orphek light on my reef. Out of the two I can say ive seen a bit more growth out of the orphek, though I like how the Dm-155e had more blue leds that made the colors pop a bit more. either or both lights worked amazing.

Hey Reef2reef, would like to announce our recent upgrade to a 90 gallon RR marineland. Our previous 57 gallon got way to packed. Got very difficult keeping corals from growing into each other, some even stinging others for room. Fragging to maintain peace and room was becoming a routine, so we decided to go to a bigger tank, allowing everything to grow, along with allowing room for new stuff. So here it goes!
Day one, the tank and stand arrive home, cant wait to set it up.

Did some measurements inside and found its location.

Spent that night custom making our light brackets. First time dealing with conduit , so it took a couple tries.

Next morning strength tested the brackets. Then off to paint.

Got the brackets painted and ready to go by sundown. Dont recommend rustoleum spray paint for painting conduit, feels like it takes days to fully dry.

Has anyone made hanging cable to hang lights this way. Local reefer recommended it seems strong , but worried about it holding up in the long run. Made from 1/16 metal braided cable, and some ferrule and stop sets.

That's how the ones are made that come with the lights so should be OK but have you thought about not using cables

Tank is finally inside and ready for filling. test fitted my kessils. my first time with kessils great lights so far. lets see how they do with corals under them

Skipping the filling and cycling pics. that's the boring part lol here are some recent shots . aquascape was very difficult on this tank for some reason, but its done for now might change it up later. Most corals and fish are transferred.

It did cover the tank, but im not sure if they will do well for SPS , as im looking to go mostly SPS in this tank. I know my orphek grows SPS amazingly so im using the kessils as supplementation for now. Im also new to kessil so learning them for now. Not even sure what intensity i should run them at
