I just ordered some CUC from Saltwateraquarium.com

I ended up with about half of what Reefcleaners.org would send for the same price

Reefcleaners.org was out of Turbos. And I wanted Turbos. Saltwateraquarium.com had Turbos

This CUC better be twice as good for twice the price

We shall see

Last experience with them package was delivered to neighbors parcel box. Got the package from neighbor, everything DOA. Emailed about the package and never heard back. So they’re a no go for me from now on.

I am in CA and have purchased from him multiple times over the last 6 years. Never had an issue.

Would you use them for CUC and if it takes 2-4 days to ship would that be ok?
2 day or you pay for overnight. I've ordered from them. Top notch and will order from them again.
One order for my bosses office tank
One for my tank.

For the record, I just had a 35 g rimless package shipped to me from John.

Complainers won't like this. It was over 90° every day in Florida while this was en route to me in Jacksonville, from Tampa. I had one dead mithrax. That's it. All of the hermits I bought in the past loved the freebie hermit shells and upgraded in a day or two.

Once again reef cleaners did me right. Maybe a few peoples isolated problems aren't because of reef cleaners.

Reefcleaners.org sells Astrea Snails one at a time, for $1 each.

Saltwateraquarium.com sells them in packs for $3 each

Reefcleaners.org sells Turbo Snails at one lot, for $3

Saltwateraquarium.com sells them in packages, for $3 each

What does Saltwateraquarium.com do That Reefcleaners.org doesn't do?

Blue Legs. One lot. $1 each
Saltwateraquarium.com 25 pack. For $45
Have a fancier website with more bells ans whistles. I'll stick with the no frills no fuss reef cleaners.

For the record

My first order was lost by usps. It arrived a 7 days later. Communication with John was fantastic. When it arrived I toom pics and saved what I could. There was some that survived. I told this to John. He said he was counting it as a total loss. He replaced everything and had me pay the upcharge for overnight shipping.

What shipping option do you use ground or overnight?

I was just looking at the Saltwater aquarium site and didn't realize they were based in PA, 10 hours away. I filled my cart and with overnight shipping comes to $4 a snail which is generally what I pay when I buy through reef cleaners using overnight. I usually buy trochus, turbos or big ceriths.

How many days does it take to go from Tampa to Jacksonville? Isn't that a 4 hour drive?

It's 5 from me to John. But I ain't making a 5 hour drive.

I took the 1 to 3 day shipping option. It arrived early afternoon on day 3. It was in the low 90's each day with Florida humidity. A delivery driver put a 20lbs bag of Bermuda seed on the reefcleaners box and crushed it. Still only lost one emerald crab.

I added everything to a tank just out of it's cycle. I figured there would be a bone yard of snail shells 24-36 hours later. Not one snail was dead.

Put short, I went cheap on shipping. Weather was absolutely not in my favor. As a retailer, the cards were stacked against RC. RC still delivered what they offered. In 9 or so years of buying from him, there has never been a problem. Not one.

Three days! I think that was the standard ground ship to Vermont a couple years ago, after one failed shipment which he did good on I go overnight per his suggestion.

Saltwateraquarium.com required overnight on the order

Reefcleaners.org allows the buyer to choose. [All of everyone's problems with Reefcleaners.org, are really with USPS it seems]

I have ordered from reefcleaners a handful of times in the past 3 years, usually with positive results. The last time my 2-3 day usps shipping took 5 days to cross the state of FL. and everything was dead. John took care of it. I recently placed an order on July 3. My order required UPS overnight shipping. "$35" No option was given. This is fine if it ensures all livestock arrives alive. The order shipped Mon. 7/8 for a Tue. 7/9 delivery. As I mentioned this shipping procedure was required and cost $35. Today I received a notification that the order is delayed and will arrive 7/10. Hopefully the shipment arrives with healthy CUC, but in the future I will be getting all my CUC from the lfs.

Was your shipment via FedEx or UPS?

I just ordered from WWC this weekend, shipped on Monday and scheduled for Tuesday delivery... I just got a delay email as well.. Looks like its now scheduled for Wednesday 7/10 like you..

I think CUC does better than corals with the delay.

I had the same experience. Not the fault of reefcleaners but I won't use USPS shipping again.

If you want a package to possibly arrive sometime in the future go with usps

Virtually every complaint with Reefcleaners.org

And AquaSD, (there is a current recent complaint thread about them as well)

Is really with the transport company, and their blunders

Weird how people think that through, and place blame on the third culpable party

"The shipper messed up, it's the vendor's fault entirely". Curious how a mind does that

Like I said

I ordered a CUC from Saltwateraquarium.com yesterday

When I ordered, the site stated they would ship yesterday

The label has been created

And the CUC have not shipped

We shall see. Throws some chunks in the armor of the Saltwateraquarium.com fan bois
