refugium / cheato flow rate

I just have quite a few Turbo Snails, one Brittle Star, thats it. The Tangs do the rest.

Added small power head today thinking this is about right for rolling the cheato.

Ya know, along with just the 900gph overflow, I used a 1200gph powehead in my 45g long sump, just for water movement.

Cheato roll(2): Cheato roll(2) - YouTube

Small video of whole sump. All DIY. Still programing my maxspect nano for so just running a regular daylight bulb but... Any other suggestions would be cool.

Looks fantastic, I don't see any problems with the set up.

Thanks. Now to finish this light and start a **** ro/di , saltwater station and plumb ato. Than figure out what I wanna use for dosing and probes and reactors and oh yah it's endless. But I feel pretty good about what I've done so far.

I asked somewhere else with no response. But do you have any experience with rock. Ie Texas holey. Since this tank is so tall I was debating saving some money on adding some base rock. I got a lot in there already but the thing looks empty lol. Need to get seriously vertical with a tower. So yah to Texas or not too. That's is the question!

Yea, you can use Texas Holey Rock. Its limestone, that won't be a problem. Its just not a porous rock, not a great help in biological terms, but can be used without issues.

With as much rock as I'll end up with I don't think one big piece at the bottom will kill me. Not with a good refugium n skimmer. Should I just bleach it good was reading somewhere it could leach stuff in my water and give me problems.

Silicates? Not that Im aware of. Phosphates are a possbility, but not silicates.
Yea, you could give it a bath in bleach/water, that'll do it.

I'm smashing my face about lighting today also. Lol. To many options but I've been really close to buying a maxspect 27" multiple times. But I have a center brace so I'm worried about the 3 pod setup in the middle. So... maybe this instead http://www.oceanrevivellc.com/goods.php?id=14 any other ideas would be nice. I'm trying to get something I don't have to upgrade for a long time while staying under 500.

They are basically the same light. So if you like the programming features, get the one thats got all the whistles on it.

I'm just worried they may not hit the bottom of my deep tank for my future coral experiments. Lol. I don't wanna have to upgrade again.
