Replace glass or tank?

OK, this is what they offered and I believe this makes it right and I am satisfied. I believe Dave a Fluid i s primarily responsible for this outcome and I can't thank him enough as well as Planet for fixing this unfortunate situation. No, they aren't making me say this either, lol. What I would like to add is, if anyone is looking for awesome sumps - which mine is from FD, please contact me or FD facebook page. I will keep everyone updated on the new tank once it arrives. Sometimes tempers or hard feelings get in the way when doing business as this thread possibly shows, however at the end of the day it was made right by all parties involved.

OK, Damian here is my final response and offer.

Planet sent me a response letter yesterday to forward to you. Though I agree with their response I new you would not so I had to have a conversation with them today to try and come up with what I feel is a more than fair resolve.

Between Planet, DFW and Myself, we will replace your tank 100% at our expense.

Planet would make this build a priority and make sure that the quality is up to par for this style of tank.

The names Reef Savvy and Elos were mentioned. If you want this level of quality I say no problem but as you know that goes to a whole different price level. I didn't get the impression that's what you wanted or we would have started this differently. You will be responsible for the cost difference if you decide to upgrade to this style of aquarium.

You will be responsible for the freight costs. Last time it was $500.

I would need you to stay on the current damage claim until its final resolve.

I would ask, if you accept this offer, that you post a retraction on Reef2Reef and any other forum that we satisfied your situation.

On behalf of DFW, Planet and Fluid Designers we apologize for your problems and hope that you find this offer acceptable.

Glad that they made it right for you!.

That's what I told you all the time, Planet is build on positive reviews and I never had a doubt in my mind that this wouldn't be resolved.
Now all that's left for you is a build threat on R2R and we all looking forward to the new awesome Planet tank.

Looking for overflow options. I'm going to have them do something different. What does every suggest? Gl*******s? Coast to Coast - inside or out? Something else?

I have the CTC internal overflow but you lose some real estate with it as under it you have a shaded area.
Next time I thought I'm doing a external but now I'm planning my build with a Ghost overflow Overflows + | Reef Savvy

My blood pressure went through the roof reading this. I'm glad it's resolved. I'm sorry you and the bride to be had to endure the stress and emotions of this situation. I would never let a customer feel like that, not for an hour. I feel this thread helped you. Good luck on your tank. It will be good to see a build thread.

Can you actually buy that Ghost Overflow seperately? I was under the impression it was only available as an upgrade to the Reef Savvy tanks. I also imagine there would be a large cost difference between those and the Glass-Holes overflows.

UPDATE: Planet has not responded to Dave yet. I asked for a new quote for Starfire front and how much to drill holes in the back for my returns. Dave has tried several times to get it for me and they have not responded.

Just bought a new house and was planning a big PA tank through an LFS... Not so sure now. Even if they get you a new tank, I wouldn't want to take the chance that mine is built as bad as your first one.

Reef savvy is top choice but the wait is soooooo crazy long. Hmm

I have roughly 4 months more to wait on mine.
My first custom built display and since I plan to run it for decades I went with arguably the best in the business.

What will be your total build time? We aren't moving until after school is out even though we're under contract... I could maybe get a head start.

I'm actually really ****** off again. After telling me "Planet will make this a priority", another week is burned. I know they were closed Monday because of the icestorm, but this is ridiculous.

Just for everyone's reference I had a very very nice driver tell me something I didn't know before. There actually is a law that says you have 15 days even after signing the initial damage waver for anything you receive via freight or mail. It's called unseen damages like say you go over something quickly and miss a hairline crack or anything like that you have the right to return the tank and a credit card company will back you up a 100percent and any good company will do so as well.

Also I had a acrylic tank come with the top chipped and had to go through that whole process much smaller tank but I had to do nothing except take pictures original shipper took care of it and shipped me a new tank asap.

On another note I'm glad your situation worked out but to say you charge more for a tank to have good seams and that looks good is a joke. That's why any of us would order a custom tank otherwise we would all buy aqueons we want something better. All I know is I'm glad that I ordered my tank from where I did I contacted them about an issue and they immeadietly responded and said if there's any aspect of the tank I'm not happy with I took pictures and they said if I want they would send me a new replacement. That's they way a company should operate and yes I signed off and praised there tank it's quality glass and very nice just has a bad looking seam and they instantly offered to replace if I wasn't happy and I just noticed it two weeks after it arrived once it was under my halide it sticks out big time.

Point being they have gained a lifetime customer and there's already 3 other people in my local reef club ordering from them with futur orders being planned.

Anyway glad it worked out and hope your new tank is kickass and full of sticks.
